“For a free art center in a small city, the Sioux City Art Center is pretty impressive. The main building is architectural unique and the collection features a great variety. The highlight is undoubtedly the Grant Wood Corn Room and I love the new space they made for it upon restoring it and reinstalling it in summer 2026. The hands-on gallery is also awesome. I've been to many museums and this is genuinely one of the best kids spaces in a free art museum anywhere I've been, not just the small ones. My kids always have a blast there. The classroom building is also nice and when one of my kids took a class there, the teacher was helpful and skilled and the building worked great as an instruction and workspace. Well worth a visit if you live in, are visiting, or passing through the Sioux City area and love art!”
