Used be a great store. But the cleanliness and service have gone down hill. And the pizza used to be amazing now I won't eat it. I kept giving them a try but tonight was the last try.
Ordered a 2 pizzas tonight and they were so floppy and gross. The topping slid off. Took it back and the cook tried to say it was cause the mushrooms were wet. Either way they didn't cook it long enough, didn't do the mushrooms right or just don't know how to make a pizza anymore.

Worker didn’t say a word to me, doesn’t bother me much but he definitely had an attitude. Pizza is good, about the quality to expect from Casey’s. Ordered extra cheese ($2) but received only the regular pizza.
Not a terrible mistake but I’ve already driven home. Fine with buying a regular pizza but I want the $2 refund. Call repeatedly. Never pick up the phone. worker was also not dressed in any casey’s attire. Again I don’t care so much about that part, but it’s clear he doesn’t want to do the job and I have to suffer (a meager 2 dollars) for it as a customer. Bad review for a normally good spot due to the staffing.

I hadn't been to Slater Casey's in a while due to the inconsistent food and bad customer service. We stopped by tonight and Jayden made us the best pizza we've had (during a huge rush). He was kind and had outstanding customer service. You should hire more people like him.

They pre make their pizza’s and freeze them. So they can just pull them out right away and bake them at 5am. Donuts are stale, drinks are expired most of the time. I just had a protein drink that was from July of 2024. They never answer their phone, just let it ring and ring. Everything is dirty. Workers talking loudly about dumb drama. Something needs to change here. Honestly, I wouldn’t be apposed to having a Sinclair or Maverik take their place. This town needs a gas station that cares.

My last two stops here have been bad. A few weeks ago I got some pizza and drinks and was standing at the counter to check out for several minutes with no cashier in sight. He finally came in from outside, on his phone, barely said two words to me, no receipt, no bag, no thank you because texting was the only thing he was interested in. Today I get there and one of the employees is standing maybe 10 feet from the entrance, and the wind is blowing her smoke into the entry area so everyone going in or coming out had to breathe in that stuff. In Iowa, it's supposed to be no closer than 25 feet. Then, she comes in and doesn't wash her hands before opening her register, and proceeds to ring up my items but is more concern3d with having a conversation with the other cashier to give me a receipt or bag or thank you. Seriously the worst experiences I've had at a Casey's and that's saying a lot because I've not had many good ones. Something needs to change at this location. It's just beyond ridiculous the lack of even the most basic customer service given here.

This has to be the worst Casey’s in the state. Just close this place and give the town a Kwik star or something. Never have food, it’s awful when they do, expired product on the shelves and never enough workers. If you want to waste your lunch standing in line to grab chips (no food ever) then this is your place. Go to

I am giving 5 stars for a couple reasons. I frequent this location, as do many others. I believe a lot of the reason for the complaints recent years stems from several things that they may be unaware of but that I have observed over the years. Partly due to covid and all that brought to businesses and staff, partly due to the staff being overwhelmed and stressed because they didnt have the stock, food, tools, help and equipment to best serve customers, and partly due to the shortages this location felt especially hard and for some things still does. For awhile our store was out of so many things it was frustrating not only for customers but I know it was for staff. They burned out. Give them a break. I have never had a bad experience with staff there. The newer staff seems to be doing well and is friendly and helpful. Staff still there after all this time, they do their job well but you can still see the stress on their faces. Maybe give them a kudos or incentive. They have endured a lot and still stick with you and the store. That says a lot about them. Stock has been a little better more and more often. They are finding a balance again. It is an excellent store, a needed store for this community. I can understand some of the complaints, but as someone whom is there almost on a daily basis for the last 7 years, I see what happened and understand why service suffered for awhile. Please keep this store and keep it stocked. Having what everyone needs takes the stress off of staff and customers. Having everything working on a regular basis also helps everyone involved. My only complaint I am sure affects staff greatly too, the one register is always down or only accepting cash. The card reader is always broken. I know the new ones have had issues here and there even at other locations. But it causes back ups when the store is extra busy. The staff can help us better, cause less complaints and be more efficient for us if they are in working order. Maintenance wise this store needs some love. There is still some stock in the kitchen that needs to come back and be consistent too. But all in all this is one of the best stores and staff around. A side note...I understand the need for upgrades as time rolls on, but changing your logo (while I understand why you probably chose to do it) and all these store upgrades are not super. I prefer the old stores and logo much more. The logo was a recognized staple in our state and communities. It had character. I also wish you carried Regular Unleaded gas at all locations. Two in Ankeny I know for sure do not have it anymore. Thank you for always being a constant and in ways a comfort for people. I know you cannot please everyone. But some of us do understand having worked in customer service for decades. We get why there where shortages for awhile. We want the staff there to know they are appreciated.

Place is terrible. Been going down hill for along time. They need to just pack it up and let Quik star take over. Place is never stocked up with anything. No one answers the phone. Can’t order on your phone half the time. Place is dog water.

I ordered a pizza over the phone with Jackie and she was so pleasant to work with! She was very personable, happy, and helpful! To top it off, the pizza she made was great! Thanks Jackie!!!

6/1/23/ 10:55 Am, (kitchen staff lady) I tried to ask a simple question and I couldn’t even finish asking the question and I got rudely interrupted and was told “ I’m the only one here I can’t help you” I will never go to this Casey’s again! Nor spend any money there! I will be telling my co workers not to go here as

I tried to get to the hot food area, but had to walk around employees standing in the way. They were complaining loudly about something and I explicitly heard one of the women drop the "f-bomb" along with other derogatory comments. Definitely not something I was expecting to hear while trying to grab a quick breakfast slice. I actually asked the cashier if there was a manager present so I could say something and she pointed to the woman who was swearing. That level of unprofessionalism was completely appalling to me, especially in the middle of the store on a Friday morning. I will be going out of my way and visit Huxley or Ankeny from now on. From the other reviews I've read on here before deciding to post my own, this isn't the first time other customers have witnessed such foul language.

The window washer cleaner containers were empty or extremely dirty. The squeegee was broken on one. There is litter everywhere outside. Overall, there appears to be no management of this store, which is not a normal experience at Casey's.
