I have known one of the Carlson's since I was younger. I will start renting from them in a few weeks. I have a service animal cause I am disabled and no one but Carlson's understood why I needed my service dog. It does take time anywhere to get a apartment these days. But I thought everyone I talked to was very nice and answered all my concerns. I will see about maintenance and all that but honestly really not worried how kind they have been.

I have been here several years now and have been very happy. I love the layout of my apartment, the pest control, responsiveness to maintenance requests. Management is friendly and responsiveness. My rent is reasonable. Overall, possibly the most pleasant apartment experience I have had.

I'm a renter at one of their properties. The maintenance department is very slow to fix things or to trim bushes ! I've complained but its like my remarks don't seem to help!

Do NOT rent from these crooks. Three weeks going throught rental application process. Got accepted to rent one of their apartments, paid deposit and two weeks before move in date they backed out. Just look elsewhere!!

Second owner in past 10 yrs. Bandaid repairs more than half the time just like the last owners did. Real repairs and replacements would be good when needed. Poor communication skills. Not all their places have a building manager/maintenance employee. Sounded great in beginning but I would like to know what happened with grant money they talked about using for the building. I would give negative stars if I could. Mold needs to be taken care of too…

91 year old had appartment broke into will she was at Dr with her son dont lock entrance doors at nite have cameras but dont use them let people stay with who ever and not on lease smell pot in the halls and its suppose to be senior housing and people help them selves to what ever sure i feel safe Not and they have about 10 units empty i wonder why?

I have been at Hearthstone apartments since 2016 . With no problem . I bake for new neighbors, the kids called me grandma cookie . But have a new neighbor that has created a living he'll for me . I have made several complaints in letters , text , e mail and phone calls . NOTHING !! THEY TELL ME TO CALL COPS ! TAKE PICS ! YEAH ! I AM IN MY 60S WITH HEART FAILURE !! I AM SURE GOING TO TAKE PICS AND RUN !! There is only a manger on sight about 12 hours a month ! No maintenance! Most request for maintenance are never complete. I have made 5 request for a broken light ! That's was June!! Still no light. Some one was shot here in May, they never let us know if we were safe or what the situation was , no one was out side for days ! Because they didn't let tenants know if was found that night . I live in a housing project, nowvi have to pay a attorney to live in a safe environment.

Although I really enjoyed living in one of their properties for many years, they are kind of slow about getting a person approved. The local manager at the property I lived in, was only there in person once every 3-4 months, instead of weekly.

Maintenance people are VERY slow at fixing things, even if it is something so easy to come fix. You have to keep calling and leaving voicemail for them to even come fix anything if they even come fix it. When you call the office everyone you talk to always has a attitude or just very rude and unprofessional. If you guys would take better care of your properties then you wouldn’t have to deal with people calling and complaining all the time!And when I first moved into these I had to clean the apartment myself because they didn’t have anyone clean it before I moved in!Whoever owns these apartments must not care about their properties.

I have lived at one of their properties for over a year now. First of all I had no heat the first winter. Second then the air conditioning didn't work. It was 88° in my apartment and all they wanted me to do was keep turning the thermostat down and let the unit run all the time without it cooling down. Third of all if you have a complaint you have to put it in writing and mail it to Spencer Iowa. I did this and it took a week and a half to hear back. Still nothing taken care of! Nothing is kept clean here in the common areas. You have people(2) using foul language flipping people off and using drugs. Also our outside lights on the building most don't work and the one right by my bed turns on and off ever minute and there is a humming noise while it is on. This has affected my sleep every night!! I have called this in weekly for 8 weeks now. Still nothing done about it! I would not recommend anyone to live on any of their properties!!

We live in HUD housing, it supposed to be for low income people who are disabled or elderly and can't be alone. We can't afford to replace or fix washers and dryers, Our 2 washers have been out since January, our outside lights don't work, I mean the ones for the parking lot and sidewalksThe list is long, nobody cares

I don't know Who actually owns these properties. But I would encourage them to rethink who they trust to manage them... First the phone reception or lack thereof is very unprofessional uninterested and rude! No one seems to be coherent in regards to requests or complaints of any kind. These are state funded properties and do have some strict policies.. They are not followed. Our manager has no idea what they are because she hasn't read the tenats lease. She is just making up as per complaint. Repairs upkeep and parking just to name a few. Shortcuts? Pocketing? You tell me.
