About Clay County Fair
The Clay County Fair and Events Center is a well-known, year-round facility that hosts over 300 events annually, including the famous Clay County Fair powered by SMU. Since 1917, it has been recognized as “The World’s Greatest County Fair,” drawing more than 300,000 guests each September for nine days of entertainment, competition, food, and fun. It is the largest county fair in Iowa, offering a great layout with everything visitors expect from a fair, including large venues, vendors, and excellent ag displays. The fair is praised for its well-organized events, family-friendly atmosphere, and good meal options like the pork chop meal at the Iowa Pork producers building. Visitors enjoy the fair more than even the State Fair, appreciating the clean, alcohol-free environment and performances such as Tuey and Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50’s. The fairground also features great camping nearby and is considered a premier show in the Midwest, with suggestions for future expansion to keep up with growth and needs.

I love the farm animals, especially the horses. It's fun to look through the vendor offerings and enjoy Fair food like poutine, funnel cakes and cheesecake.
