This place does NOT seem to even care in the slightest about animals only about the money that comes in from the adoptions, I've seen quite a few bad reviews and I can believe them. I've even looked into them since we're trying to move to twin but can't without rehoming a few cats, sure I'm not in twin YET, but it looks like I just WONT be in twin since they refuse to help, it's ridiculous if I were in twin already theyd help sure, but what is the difference of rehoming them in twin WHILE i move there, I would still be a resident, but no. This stupidity is why I can believe the negative reviews I've read and I sure hope people clear this place out and send pets elsewhere.

We just adopted a beautiful all black young kitty and the process was completely smooth and quick. Everyone there was nice and honest about temperament issues about a different all black kitty we were originally interested in as we do have a toddler. So, they introduced us to another all black kitty that they got in due to how sweet she was and she has been doing so well with the love and attention that our toddler gives her!I’m also leaving this high rating due to learning that our kitty had tape worm after almost exactly a month of having her! I don’t blame the shelter as our new cat was dropped off to them as a stray and sometimes they don’t show signs for quite a while. The shelter was extremely understanding and let us bring our new kitty that we just adopted back to them and administered the tape worm specific medication to her for us! However, this is also because it wasn’t that long after adopting her from them, so it wasn’t like it was months later!Anyways, just wanted to leave this positive review as now we have a very loving and cuddly kitty, fulfilling my husband’s dream of having an all black cat! Thank you so much! We named her Stevie, after Stevie Nicks.

They can’t even answer the question phone I’ve called 6 times and no answer. I’ve got a dog I can no longer take care of but no where to take him since management doesn’t wanna pick up with phone.

People for Pets clearly loves all of the Pets in their care. They went out of their way to help my Sweet Pea Mollie come home to me in Wisconsin when she found herself in a difficult situation with her prior owner. I'm forever grateful for everything they have done for her, and for keeping her safe and healthy until she could be reunited with me, her original breeder. This gives me hope that Breeders and Shelters can work together to find every pet the amazing home they deserve.

This place is refusing to let one of the animals in their care be reunited with her owners after she accidentally got out of their backyard. The owners have even agreed to pay the adoption fee for her back and this place has refused. The animal in their care is a husky they call mollie, her real name is Sweet Pea. Absolutely horrendous.

We got a rescue from PFP this past summer and they were an absolutely wonderful organization. It was apparent how deeply committed they are to finding the best possible matches for their dogs and cats with their forever families. Positive, caring individuals!

Love this place so much. My kids go out there all the time just to love on the animals! My aunt has worked here for as long as I can remember and dedicates SO much of her time for these animals. I've never seen someone work 7 days a week and never complain. This organization is SO lucky to have her!!

I got a wonderful Kitty that needed a new home... Thank you People for Pets! I used the Petfinder app. I had many cats to choose from however, when I saw my Gizmo, I simply fell in love!

I adopted my dog here a long time ago in 2005. He was in very rough shape when they found him and they helped him so much with all of his medical issues. They are in Iowa and they transported him to Minneapolis. I am grateful there are places like this that care so much to help animals. He was a wonderful dog and I had him for 10 years. ❤

I hear they take good care of the animals, which I respect. However they never seem to adopt any animals out. Most of their cats have been on Petfinder for months and months, even the highly adoptable ones.My family wanted to adopt an indoor cat. They do not respond to emails (we tried several times from two accounts), which are supposedly their preferred form of communication. Months went by. I heard from others who have tried to adopt here that visiting the shelter in person is useless, and since it was a 40 minute drive we couldn't take that risk. I would be cautious about supporting this shelter, particularly as they do not give lost pets back to their heartbroken local owners. Don't get your hopes set on any specific animal from them. I gave up.A few weeks later i adopted with a stray 4yo kitty from Sioux Falls Humane Society. The people there were kind and informative. My cat has settled in, she eats wet food, has a water fountain, a cat tree, daily playtime, clean litter, cuddles, butt scratches, lots of soft blankets and beds just for her. She is spayed, chipped and goes in for regular checkups. I'm not sure why I was flagged as a bad owner at this shelter but I clearly wasn't worth their time. The three Sioux City rescues like Noah's Hope, the humane society, and F.O.A.S. are nice to work with as well. I would support them instead.
