Had an internet outage and called to have a tech come out between 5-7. Tech calls at 4:45 and won't respond after answering the call. I could hear the tech fumbling around with paper in the background. Then canceled my appointment claiming I refused to answer. Now they will only schedule appointments before 5. I don't get off work until 5 and now my wife can't work from home. Customer service is terrible and the techs are dishonest. I will be changing providers as soon one is available in my neighborhood. I would never recommend MediaCom to anyone!

Raised their prices without warning, make it a pain to get a refund of any kind.

Tried to get services hooked up in Sumner IA. Was expected to wait 3 weeks for installation. Unacceptable. Ended up going with Kinetic/Windstream.

Poor service and difficult cancelation process and equipment return. Save yourself time and get anyone else in town.

Expensive. Poor service. Unreliable service. I do not even call the number anymore and try and fight through the automation. I now just drive up to the office and complain.

I tried to set up a new internet service with mediacom near waterloo, after one week my appointment came and I had a no show from the tech. I then rescheduled for 3 days later which they came out and couldn't set it up fully. They left without scheduling a new appointment so then I had to call support who said they can't get someone out here for another week. This was after they already charged me 90$ for a service they haven't provided for 20 days

I would rate them lower if able. The internet is down a lot. Very expensive for what you get. Horrible "value" associated with this brand. From snide customer service agents, to constantly late service technicians and inept after hours overseas customer service agents. If you're looking for a terrible internet provider than mediacom is here for you! I wish this review was a joke, it certainly isn't. 0 stars.

Seems like every day internet goes down for a few hours at random times, price is NOT worth speeds. Claim 1gbps but maxes out at 550 mbps... I get it FCC laws state "degradation over distances...." still horse dung... I cannot wait until I move to an area with some competition.
The techs are sloppy with work and leave trash and cable ends in yards only to get smoked by my lawn mower. Lazy third party sub contractors but still mediacoms problem not th3 consumer.

Goes down 5-10x a week, and when it isn’t down they schedule maintenance. Absolute garbage company. Don’t waste your time. I hope everyone reads these comments and runs.

I had my internet shutdown on the 20th of June, I needed the modem until the 28th, due to porting the land line number, they were going to charge me like 539 00 or so for the equipment ( modem and 2 eero) they claim you have 30 days to return the equipment, so why was I going to be charged for the equipment on my next bill,(which is due on the 2nd of every month) I guarantee if I didn't return the equipment on July 1st, they would have charged for the equipment and I would have had to fight for a refund for the equipment return, they are over priced and over charge

Around May 22nd, the cable going to my house internet box snapped and ripped the box off my house, damaging siding. I have now been almost three weeks without internet. I work from home remotely full time. I have called mediacom 5 times as of the time writing this post. The first time I called (this is after the original call telling them I had no internet and that they would send a tech out), the guy told me they would send a supervisor out to assess damage. That same day of the call, a technician also told me that since he contacted his supervisor and documented it, it would get scheduled to have someone come assess damage. The second time I called, the person told me nothing was on record and that they would schedule something. The third time I called (since I received no confirmation and still had no internet), the person again told me nothing was on record about the damage and nothing was scheduled. They also told me they would schedule someone to come assess damage. They also told me it would be saturday during a time period of 10-12. Saturday rolls around and I never received any confirmation or calls aside from the phone call I made. So I call yet again. I am AGAIN told, "there is nothing on file for an assesment to be done, Ill schedule that but it will be about 5-7 days before they come out". I am so tired of this company. They are absolute garbage and extremely frustrating to work with.

My experience with Mediacom has been horrible. We have not been able to watch our TV’s with TiVo boxes for nearly two weeks. Mediacom’s service is ridiculous . They can’t send out a technician for over a week. I threatened to cancel my service and they don’t even care. We have a Mediacom account locally and at our lake house. The cost is nearly $800.00 per month. They do not care if I cancel my service. They are outrageous. My family is in the service business and we are horrified. My husband is an attorney and we maybe be suing Mediacom.

Biggest scammers of all time my grandmas had your cable for 30+ years and you keep raising her right and you won’t lower it and she’s going to switch. I hope you guys go out of business.

Can't give 0 stars so guess they get a one star that is not deserved. Outages to slow speeds guess do to throttling, and data caps and over prices. I seen the responses by the company to the bad reviews and seems like everyone has same lists problems yet nothing is done about it. Now that other options are in the area you would think they would change but not seeing that happening so time to move on.
