From a shopper’s perspective, the store generally offers good deals, but issues with pricing and checkout have arisen. There have been instances of overcharges due to system glitches, especially on sale days like Saturdays, where clearance items may not be discounted correctly. Customers have had to make trips back to the store to resolve these errors, sometimes feeling unhelped by management. Additionally, some believe the store’s prices have increased under new ownership, making shopping less rewarding than before. For consigners, the experience has been mixed. While the staff work hard to process items, there are complaints about the lack of totes for drop-off and delays in pickup, sometimes caused by black bag restrictions or system miscommunications. Some consigners feel that the process has become less efficient and that staff could improve communication and organization. The store takes a significant commission (around 60%) on sales, which some find high, especially given the effort involved in consigning items. Suggestions for improvements include creating a live catalog app to help customers find items more easily and streamlining the consigning process. Despite these issues, the overall vibe remains positive with friendly employees and a large selection of items, but recent changes have led to some dissatisfaction among both shoppers and consigners.
