Storage Only! This location is really just a storage-unit location, despite the UHaul signage and paint job of the main building. That building is not staffed; you evidently cannot get any UHaul services here. If you want those, you need to go to the University Avenue location.

Just call their competition. Two different locations set me up perfectly (with multiple options) the time that it took U-Haul to call me back the first time.I talked to four different customer service people all offered me the exact same wrong trailer... Mixed in with constantly contradicting themselves. We have a trailer available oh no we don't,,, we have a truck available oh no we don't... From now on U-Haul is the place of Last Resort. The rules that Define the way their customer service Representatives can handle a situation, made finding a solution impossible even though options were available. In a perfect world, I would have gotten a trailer for two days. They only had a trailer available for one of those days. I guess their rules make it so they can't give me the option to only rent for one day. I was traveling 600 miles to help a widow move because she had no one else... I was willing to be very flexible.. U-Haul made sure that that didn't happen...Their competition gave me exactly what I wanted, because it was Memorial Day weekend, I picked up the trailer on Friday and I returned it on Tuesday and was charged for a single day.

This place is such trash. Not only did I have to complain about the snow that blocked EVERY lane when we came out to store our things so badly that we couldn't even get the uhal through. Now our unit is frozen shut and there is NOTHING being done about it. Plus my husband was hung up on when trying to deal with this issue. We were told to go buy ice melt to deal with this ourselves because apparently this is not uhal's issue its our issue.

this place is a joke they don't maintain the property at all. my storage unit was blocked shut with ice. when I called for assistance I was told there was nothing they could do for me and that I should go buy ice melt. oh and to top it off I was hung up on. U-Haul will NOT be getting my bushes again.

The calling experience was wonderful, the actual Waterloo location interaction was horrible. Needed a locksmith to assist with my storage unit and setup a call out. I called the uhaul location to give them a heads up that the locksmith was on their way. They also knew the situation as i was at the location the day before explaining everything. They told me to call the locksmith, that i did, because they work with them. The day of the locksmith showing up, they took my ID, called uhaul to verify me being on the storage unit account, but instead of saying yes because I've been making payments on the account for months, they tell the locksmith I'm not on the account. Now that's a wasted call-out for the locksmith and i still can't get into the storage unit! I went back to the uhaul location and explained what just happened. I was greeted with blank stares instead of apologies and trying to make it right! Very upset about the result. Outside of that, the same card I've been using to make payments on the storage unit for months still hasn't been setup for auto pay, even after being told twice that it was setup. That's a whole other issue that I've been having with this particular location. Would not recommend to other people! Poor performance and customer service.

**Updated**Made reservation yesterday via call. Your directed through their automated phone system. I received a reservation number and was told I'd be able to complete check in the next day (Sunday at 9am). No one is here to help me complete check in. They say you can "skip the counter" by completing check in online but it asks you to log in and I've never created an account. Tried going through the forgot pass dialogs but Im never sent information to log in. Also, it's not clear exactly if there is even an office to check in with. Tried calling and it's a 40 min wait.Alright, so your supposed to go to the "3633 University Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701" location first to do the counter checkout process. Changing from 1 to 4 stars because everyone has been polite, it's probably my fault for not understanding the process, but for a noob this wasn't as obvious as I'd like it to be.

When I moved out of my small storage unit I contacted the manager in the beginning of August and was told to leave the lock&key that was provided in the empty storage unit. So I did just that and a month goes by and I get an email saying I was late on payment when I shouldn’t have been getting billed so I called and was directed to a location on university because no one at Mitchell location was available so I explained to her what happened and was told the manager of Mitchell location would reach out to me, which never happened so I called again when I got an email and a notification from my bank saying two months worth of storage unit was being taken out of my account to still be directed to university location AGAIN. I emailed them back assuming maybe just maybe they’d respond that way, but of course not! I’m absolutely furious and will be speaking with Uhaul customer service to get my money back as it has been empty ever since beginning of August!

My unit leaked due it improper matinance. Called them some girl answered phone acted like i was burdening her. Then tells me too bad i should have had insurance. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS
