Better, cleaner store than most!
-
October 2023 by Patanjali T.
Pros: * Vast array of products... a little bit of everything for $1.25/ea. * Cheapest cleaning products anywhere, all will get the job done. * Quality of most kitchen utensils is decent. They won't last forever, but will get you through a year. * Plates, bowls, mugs & glasses are a great value with many style options & colors. Inventory changes periodically. * Decent selection of seasonal decorations & items. * Many beauty products are good (hair, skin & nails) & if you just need a quick nail polish, eye shadow, compact or lipstick, you'll find something acceptable that will do in a pinch. * Good quality & quantity of greeting cards. * Convenient location: Behind Wells Fargo, next to Goodwill & Fareway. * Nice staff: Always, always pleasant & helpful. Cons: * I don't eat processed food, whether canned or frozen, but check expiration dates carefully. Pardon my bluntness, but most food is "junk food" with no nutritional value. Most items don't look appetizing to me, but that might be bias as I don't eat junk food anyway. Comment: I just feel the need to write this as our world has changed & can be an inconvenience to everyone. To the review stating that the store closed 8-min early, at 8:52pm one evening & wouldn't allow her in, I understand both sides as a consumer & former store mngr of multiple, varying types of stores. My doors were often locked 15-min prior to closing as that's when robbery is more likely to occur, end of evening with full cash registers. We would assess customers if they tried to enter... sometimes we let them in, other times we did not. With safety in mind, especially today's smash & grab & you're on your own culture (police not offering much help to store employees), I'd never visit a store even 30-min prior to closing & if I were a mngr today, I'd be more concerned with the safety of my staff than offending a 8:52pm customer. In addition, this store is in a strip mall, set way back from the main road (you can't see it from the main road) & all nearby businesses & stores are closed late evenings. It's a little eerie. This customer aside, latecomers normally are strange, under the influence or have ulterior motives for visiting, in my experience as a mngr, especially if the staff is majority female or young. So, yep, if the door were locked for any reason (registers shut down early due to malfunctioning, which isn't uncommon or a previous encounter that evening with a strange shopper, which also isn't uncommon), at best I'd unlock the door to tell the customer we're closing in 8-min, if she knew exactly what she wanted & didn't need help, she could run in & quickly check out. If she seemed strange, I'd smile & wave, telling her we closed early, sorry for the inconvenience but come back tomorrow. Most folks don't shop late evenings, especially at Dollar Tree & stores like it... there are always heightened fears after then... sorry, but that's just fact. And, please remember 9pm shoppers, most employees have been there for 12+ hours, have another 30-min+ left to clean, cash out & get a deposit ready & the "I just need one item" shoppers often don't & now we're all closing late & the customer is inconveniencing multiple employees. A tip: If you need to shop late hours, for example, due to your late work schedule, call the store first & alert them that you're coming... depending on store, I guarantee, they may ask what you want & have it ready for you at the register when you arrive. We did it all the time & were happy to do so. Customers really appreciate it, especially in inclement weather. Some are just not doing their jobs, sure, but our world is different now with lax local laws. Please shop 30-min prior to closing in stores with late-night hours or give them a head's up that you're coming so everyone can be happy. Some will say the store should

I’ve gone in a couple times never had a problem, both times “Bear” was my cashier, very nice and respectful, greeted me nicely both times asked questions and took great care of the stuff considering some stuff was fragile. Only flaw was that the store is pretty messy and always has boxes out or is dirty. But granted great place.

Horrible customer service. “Bear” was the employee behind the register. The woman in front of me had a basket full of craft items. He carelessly dumped the basket onto the conveyor belt. I was shocked. When it was my turn to check out I also had a basket full of items, some of which were fragile. “Bear” dumped the items into the conveyor belt then tossed the basket into the cart next to him and said “lazy f**ks”. What an incredibly rude and ugly spirited old man. I’ll make the trip to WDM next time.

I just left the store from buying a few items. Norma was the cashier who checked me out. She was so incredibly rude. She threw my bags at me. The first time I thought it was an accident. Then she proceeded to do it with the next one. She told me the amount and I was grabbing my money from my wallet, then she yelled the amount at me. She then snatched my money from me and threw the receipt and change in my hand. I will not be returning

I really love Dollar tree, but with delivery being a problem for EVERYONE, ITS DIFFICULT for every store to keep stocked, including Dollar Tree, but, it's the same each place you go. Very hard to find everything you need, expecially at one place, that would be AMAZING!!! AND at a decent price?? Will THAT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN????

1 star. There is no way to explain the disrespect that the workers give, the store is in horrible shape and the service is terrible. I came in to get something the other and when i was checking out, the cashier was asking very disrespectful questions and being very rude, i kept it plain and left.

Disappointed that Dollar Tree is now $1.25 Tree. Might limit my visits here now.
