Went with the family for brunch. MIL got an omelet, she was happy with it. FIL got a bbq chicken. Large plate. He said it was okay. I don't remember what my husband got, but he said his was good. I got the french toast with hashbrowns. It was okay. Staff is extremely friendly. Prompt service and kept drinks refilled. Not the same menu as online, but could just be it was a Sunday menu. This used to be a favorite. It's under new management now. They are being diligent on continuing to improve, which shows they are really trying to make this successful. I believe they can do it and would go again. Wishing them the best of luck!

The reopening is in full swing. Service was amazing and attentive. Corn soup was the highlight, the rest of my food was quite good.

Food was on poin ? service was excellent! My kid stole the veggies of my plate and he doesn't eat veggies, that's how good the food looked and was.

Reopened in late November. Pumpkin cheesecake was fantastic! Glad to see someone has reopened a local institution. Bacon Cheeseburgers are wonderful as well.

Absolutely the worst salad I've had in my entire life. The drinks were subpar and everything was overpriced. The only decent thing I had was the fried cheese curds. Overall this is an overpriced restaurant serving subpar food definitely would not recommend going there.

Good family atmosphere with great servers. Food on a budget is ok. If toy want the outstanding stuff, $20+ is a must.

We met here for lunch with daughter, son-in-law and their 3 young girls as a midway point in our travels through Iowa. Loved it. Service was perfect, two of us had the Irish fish and chips which was freshly prepared, served hot, crisp and delicious. Wife had the taco salad which was also good, and the kids really enjoyed their chicken fingers. We appreciated the coloring supplies provided to the children during the reasonable wait for us to get organized and the food to be prepared. Nice people, good food!

The food was super; though a little pricey. They have lots of help and our three gals kept constant watch for our needs. An error by the cook was easily corrected at checkout. We left a huge tip to reward the little mama who cleaned up after our messy baby!

I have ordered different items when I go there to eat. Everything is very good! The shrimp is too expensive and Red Lobster in Ames, Iowa is huge and delicious and much cheaper than Secon Street Emporium!! Price is way too high here but very good shrimp, just over priced.I would recommend this place for sure.

Was expecting more from the burgers considering the website talked about using Angus beef. Whether or not they do, the patties seemed like preformed frozen variety. Not one staff person had on a mask. Wasn't necessarily a bad experience, but not good enough to return.
