I live in Macomb, Il. For several years, a couple of times a month I drive to Burlington to shop at Target. So yesterday September 23, 2025 I make the hour drive to Burlington to shop at Taget. I get my cart, put over $100.00 worth of items in said cart and go to checkout lane. Only there isn't any check out lanes open. There are people at the service desk so I head over there, ONLY to be stopped by the girl at the self checkouts. She tells me I can't go to the service desk, because she already has a line of THREE PEOPLE, that I will have to use the self checkouts.
I say, I don't use self check outs, because I don't work here and I don't get an employee discount!! She then says, the check outs aren't open so you will have to selfcheck out.
So I say, well then I guess I will shop some place else.
Her RUDE REMARK WAS: WELL, THAT'S YOUR CHOICE!!
MY CHOICE, WAS TO DRIVE AN HOUR TO SHOP AT TARGET!!
I walk off and leave a full cart to go shop some place else.
I have always shopped at Target, because it is neat, clean and easy to find what I'm needing and the cashiers are always so pleasant (WHEN THEY ARE THERE) This young lady was so rude and didn't have a clue about business. To tell a customer to go some place else just blows my mind. I owned a business for 45 years and she wouldn't have worked for me 10 minutes, if that she thinks that is customer service.
At least I will save gas money, because I will NEVER have to make a 2 HOUR TRIP to Burlington to shop at Target again.

No actual check outs open when I visited, forced to use self checkout. Will not be returning.

The Burlington store was clean and well stocked. I chose the cash option at the self checkout and an associate was there immediately to help. Always take a minute to check out the dollar spot. It's worth it.

Can't seem to figure out their TCG/Collector Cards situation. Super inconsistent, kinda rude at times, stocker will purposely stock super slow then tell you youre loitering for waiting on them, and let's employees hold/buy products when they're on shift. 1 person gets told they can only grab 2, another person will grab as many as they want and get told nothing. Tried telling me because I purchased Minecraft cards that I can't buy pokemon too... all while the employee was saying how she was gonna buy the pokemon.. Just very unprofessional way to treat your local paying customers.

I needed to share my experience on here to make the Burlington Target aware of their issues. Friday February 7th, the GNX album by Kendrick Lamar came out and I knew I wanted the limited edition that Target had for it. I go into the store with my significant other and to our surprise it’s nowhere to be found in the vinyl section even though the Target App said that the Vinyl was in stock at the Burlington Target. So we kindly asked a Team member so check the Street dated section in the back because we knew they just hadn’t put it out yet. So he got us a CD and vinyl for the album and we bought both. So it was a bit disappointing that we had to ask a team member to grab these items for us when they definitely should have been on the sales floor. Now a week later, (February 15th) I realized Sabrina Carpenters Deluxe vinyl was at Target as well because of the app saying they had them in stock (7 at the time is what the app said) so I decided to jump the gun and place an order for pickup for the vinyl that way I could pick it up after my plans for the day. Within a couple hours Target emails me saying that the Vinyl is out of stock. This was extremely shocking to me because when a pickup order drops, a team member is supposed to pick the order shortly after and then store the item, so it was hard for me to believe that all 7 of the vinyls were bought within the time I placed my order. So I took it upon myself to check the store for myself and see if this vinyl also had the same issue as the vinyl I wanted the previous week. And of course we go in, ask the nice AP gentleman to check the back for us because surprise surprise it wasn’t on the sales floor once again. He came out of the backroom with at least 10 of the vinyls. I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of awareness and need to get street dated items out on the sales floor. I shouldn’t have had my order cancelled because someone was too lazy to check the back for my item. Since this has happened to me twice now. I decided to hop on here and hope someone sees this. When I lived in Coralville, IA I never had this problem with that Target. They always put their street dates product out at like 7 am. So with all due respect this is not a Target issue, it’s a burlington issue. I love this store and I love shopping here, especially for Vinyls. Please be better, I don’t want this to keep happening and especially have anyone else deal with this unknowingly that it’s because of lack of care. And this is coming from a previous Target Employee.

The lady at guest service at noon, on Saturday, February 15th was extremely rude. I was explaining that what I had was a gift and that I wanted to return it because I wouldn’t use it. She asked if I had a receipt and I just stated again that it was a gift and I didn’t. Then she felt the need to be snarky and say “well I didn’t know if you had a gift receipt”. With all kinds of attitude. I just finished my return and left. I’m not sure if she was just having a bad day but you should never take things out on your customers. I think I will stick to the Coralville target.

Excellent caring and efficient service from two employees yesterday when I was in the world's biggest hurry! I wish I would've gotten their names because they went above and beyond to help me in a rush find a makeup kit for my daughter. One young lady was on her way to do something else when I Addressed her and without hesitation. She turned around and listen to what I had to say without ignoring me pointed me in the right direction. The second lady in the back of the store While fulfilling her own duties had no problem stopping to help me Locate exactly what I was looking for as well as the exact location that it was in. They were awesome and I appreciate it so much!

Target has been a staple in the community. It is the store that keeps Walmart in check. It offers home goods, clothing, You can enjoy low prices on groceries, home, electronics, apparel & and more. They always have great seasonal things like decorations; they have quality products that's reasonably priced and affordable.
