The fried chicken is delicious. The family style meal is to die for.

A true gem. I grew up eating at Brookville several Sundays a year with my family. The prior owners, Mark and Connie Martin are amazing people and I am so glad someone has grabbed the baton to carry this place on its path of greatness. Coming here on Mother’s Day this year and can’t wait!

Food and service was awesome! The atmosphere was real quiet and a lil creepy.

I was really disappointed in our experience here. I just don't get all the hoopla about the food. My husband and I both ordered the chicken. The mashed potatoes and gravy were decent but everything else tasted very bland. The ice cream was soft and almost melted. The service was good and the building was clean. It was a very awkward experience because it was ridiculously quiet in the dinning room. The decor felt like a nursing home from the 1990s.

We came in at 6 pm on a Friday and the kitchen was backed up due to a large group of Rotations. Our server apologized and did a great job in taking care of us. The only issue we ran into was in booking the gathering a month ago, we were given meal options of chicken, beef, or steak. The day of the event we called to confirm and they did not have steaks to offer us. The chicken was good, the people who had the beef ate every bite, so I'll assume it was good. If you are traveling through our just need a change the family style meal was a welcome treat from the past. The restaurant was moved years ago from Brookville and the new location in Abilene tries to recreate the atmosphere of the original. The establishment was closed a few years ago, it has reopened with the Munson's at the helm. The recipes seem to be every bit as good as I remember. Give it a try, it's good comfort food.

Went to Eisenhower museum in Abilene and this restaurant was highly recommended. It didn’t disappoint. Great family style chicken dinner consisted of three breasts, two thighs, two wings and two legs. Also served with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, creamed corn, slaw, fruits, cottage cheese, biscuits with jam and homemade ice cream. Chicken was very flavorful and moist. Building modeled after an old hotel in Brookville, KS. If ever in the area, definitely make a reservation.

I'm from Salina and came here many times with my mom. I live in Colorado now, but when I was home a few weeks ago, I knew I had to eat here!! Oh man, the chicken, coleslaw, creamed corn, on and on. It tasted just like I remembered from 20 years ago.

Pretty cool experience having a 1940's style dinner. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.

We had the chicken dinner and the beef dinner. The chicken was excellent, and the beef was overcooked, tough, and saved by the gravy. More than enough food, with enough leftovers for both of us to have dinner again.
