Was notified that they dropped off a package at 10;55 in my mailbox Saturday in my mailbox. Mailbox was empty when I checked it. Called the post office that closed on Saturday at 10:30. Mailman came and dropped off my mail at 1:30 and package was not there then either. Ran down the mailman and asked where my package was and they think it must of been delivered to another address. Suggested I call the office Monday morning. So someone has my package and have to wait till monday to see if they know where they delivered it and I sure it will never be found. Postal service has really went down hill all over the united states in the last few years.

I wish it could just deliver to my house. They won't let you have your packages unless you have a yellow slip.

Always Close Early

December 2023 by Dominique Hedgepath-Shaffer
This has to be the most frustrating PO I've been to. They always seemed to be closed 3-4 minutes early and that's the only time my SO can make it in to get packages. Majority of the time they shove so many packages in your small box everything is squished. Or you receive something almost a month late.Update: called the PO again and was able to talk to higher up she was wonderful to speak with! Updating rating just because of that interaction, I'm really happy to know she's the one in charge and trying to make the PO better. Thank you

New regime is rude and grumpy.Waited patiently for 10 minutes through paper jams and address lookups before my turn in line. Did nothing to warrant the rude grumpiness thrown my way.I’d go elsewhere if possible

Our Post Office is one of my favorite places. Friendly, helpful, always going above and beyond. Further, The USPS is the most, almost the only pleasant government agency to deal with. Cant say enough good things about them!

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone I never received my package and no one has a clue where it is... Funny thing is I paid 9 bucks in shipping just so they could lose it now I have to wait for an investigation, which could take even longer than their delivery times. This place is a joke and not the funny kind

I just wanted to thank all of our postal workers here. This has been a really hard year for you guys. And I know that you are swamped with packages because everyone is opting to order things online. THANK YOU.And to everyone who is upset because they are not receiving their packages on time. Or having to pick them up. PLEASE HAVE COMPASSION. And review the picture that I have attached to this review. THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE DEALING WITH. Plus, work conditions are awful and a lot of facilities are unable to social distance. 19,000 postal workers are out because of COVID. And the new leadership for USPS is poor.THANK YOU AGAIN USPS. I will continue to advocate for our workers!HAVE COMPASSION.Leah M HowardBaldwin City resident, mother and, wife.

Mailing over 120 boxes recently, I could not be more pleased with all the help and the service. Christy stayed well past closing time to assist me and it was a big job. I am very appreciative as they were very busy the whole time I was there. We also receive our mail via a rural route for over thirty years. AGAIN my hats off to jobs well done. It must be very difficult getting thousands of pieces of mail and packages to the correct person(s). THANKS!!!

I am very displeased with baldwin city USPS. I have a package that was delayed for some reason and it arrived in Baldwin city Saturday morning. Their hours are only from 830 to 1030am right now which makes it very inconvenient to get anything done. I work nights on the weekends and do not get home until 6am. I needed the package for a trip which I'm leaving for monday at 1am. Instead of putting it in the oversized box (there are 5 empty) and leaving a key in my po box, I get a slip of paper saying I missed delivery. Now I have to buy the item again in person due to the inefficiency of the Baldwin city USPS.

The town of Baldwin City has a need for a post office that does not close for an hour and a half for lunch Monday through Friday. This is the time of day when many people find it convenient to do their business. This post office closes at 4:30 as well. It is ridiculous. On Saturday they are barely open at all. Why? Towns of similar sizes in our area have better hours available. Today I went 7 minutes before they should have been closed and the door was already locked. The man inside saw me and still didn't unlock the doors and take my packages. They are open such a short time yet still close early. Today was not the first time I have found the doors locked earlier than the time on the sign claims they will close. This is so inconvenient. I am not the only person who was turned away.

I have had several negative experiences with USPS in the past and have decided against leaving a review for one reason or another, but this time I have had enough. I was expecting a very important parcel that required a signature, and instead of a knock on the door I get a notification saying there was a failed delivery attempt. So I walk down to the mailbox and see a "sorry we missed you" sticky note stuck to my Price Chopper ad. I try for about an hour to get someone on the phone at the local location, busy signal the entire time. I'm convinced she left the phone off the hook so she didn't have to deal with it. So I load up my kid and head into town (mind you this is April 2020, we are all supposed to be staying home, it is frown upon to take your child out in public right now, but she's 6 and the incredibly inconvenient hours of the Baldwin City USPS office doesn't allow me the option of going at a time there's someone else home to care for her.) When I get there I explain my issue to the gal and she gets smart with me and says "it says right here he will try again tomorrow" - I'm sorry, try again tomorrow the same way that he did today, just leave another note saying sorry we missed you so you can just send it back???? And then she proceeds to tell me that USPS is not collecting face-to-face signatures right now because of the virus, which I know is a bold faced lie, because my sister is Lawrence received the same item, the same day, and her mail carrier came to her door to collect a signature and deliver her mail. So she finally tells me I can sign the notice that was left and leave it with her and my mail would be delivered tomorrow. So all that attitude, and that useless trip into town, for something that, 1. Should have been done correctly in the first place, 2. Could have been explained to me over the phone if they would have that option available to people, or 3. Even before having an attitude with me about it when I went out of my way to drive to town to talk to someone about it face to face. Which, during a time when everyone is supposed to be staying home, I fail to see how my daughter and I having to be out in public is a better option than my mail carrier wearing a mask and gloves and coming to my door so I can sign something and recieve my mail. When he finally did deliver my certified mail, that was just left in my mailbox, he said that a signature was collected and he left it with an individual. Luckily it was left in the correct mailbox because had it not been that would have been a mess since he claimed he left it directly with me.

Another government ran facility. The inefficiency at this office never ceases to surprise me. If this was a private business it would have went out of business many years ago. The office hours are absolutely the opposite of what is needed for our rural area ( a lot of people leave to go to work out of town, in the morning and return in the evening and with office hours being 9:30 to 4:30 and closed for a hour and a half for lunch 11:30 to 1:00 it’s impossible to utilize. The facility is always dirty and rundown looking and the employees don’t seem to be very happy.
