“Excellent care. One of my rabbits broke her leg. Pam, front desk, was very helpful getting me scheduled that day. Bella, tech, was very gentle. Dr. Tarrant was very empathetic and went above and beyond connecting me with a surgeon. Had a follow up appointment with Dr Smith to get a new splint while waiting for surgery appt. They were very validating and knowledgeable. Would recommend.”

“We have been going to Stilwell Animal Hospital for close to 20 years. The Vets and staff have changed over the years, but the services has not. They were the primary care givers for two of our loved ones from a puppy until end of life. It’s great to have them as part of the family and they treat our loved ones as part of their family. Can’t say enough about how amazing they are.”

“I had a very odd emergency with a horse that ate rat poison in a bucket under the deck. Dr Melina? Came right away on a weekend night & was very helpful. We were unable to tube him( he wouldn't swallow the tube) but she kept trying. Thank God he didn't eat much so has been fine. She has text & followed up for 4 days after. Thank you!”

“Dr. Carita Meyer at the Cat Clinic is fantastic. My 2yr old male cat, Porcini, was unwell over the weekend, vomiting a couple of times, eating/drinking very little, and keeping to himself. Even though the weather wreaked havoc with appts, I was able to get him in at Tues 4pm.This was my first visit to Blackbob Pet Hospital, and I came here because of several referrals from both cat/dog people I know. I was very impressed with the way the cat examining rooms are set up to minimize fear and help calm cats. They have cat toys, a climbing apparatus on the wall, and places for cats to hide. (My cat is a "hider" but still investigated everything.) Porcini was definitely calmer than he had been at our previous vet.The vet techs were professional, friendly and good with Porcini. Dr. Carita Meyer was awesome. She asked me many questions to find out what could be happening, examined him, and she came up with a treatment plan. We took bloodwork and discovered he had pancreatitis. After some IV fluids (he was dehydrated, too, from not drinking enough) and a shot to calm his tummy (pancreatitis can cause them a very painful tummy ache), we went home. Within an hour he had perked up and went to his water bowl and started drinking. He ate a spoonful of wet food and held it down. The next morning, it was like he was almost his old self! He was up and about, drinking and eating like normal, with no vomiting or apparent stomach upset. He even brought me his mouse to throw and play fetch with him!I thought the bill was fair, not cheap but not expensive, and prices were discussed beforehand. They took a lot of time with my pet, which I appreciated. Just a note, I did have to wait 20-25 min for the bloodwork to run, but I was told ahead of time & said I was ok to wait. I ended up spending about 2 hrs there, which was necessary. I wish my "people" doctor would be as thorough with my issues!Another thing that impressed me-- at EVERY other vet I've been to throughout my life, and I was bringing in my pet because of illness, not something routine--if my pet was close or past due on shots, other vets would push to get those done immediately even though my pet was there for illness. I mentioned this to the vet tech, and she thoughtfully explained that they don't believe in doing that, because the pet may feel worse or have an adverse reaction. I LOVE the fact that they are thinking about your pet, not making a few extra dollars. It would have been so easy, but they didn't do it.Dr Meyer also called the day after our visit to check on Porcini to be sure he was doing well, and see if I had any other questions. How great is that?Even though this place is a 30 min drive for me, I will be back because of the professional, great care here. Would definitely recommend for cats.”

“I wish I could give more stars. Stanley has helped me and my babies so many times. In dec I got home and my great dane had Passed away in its kennel. Stanley stayed open to let me bring him there so he didn’t have to stay at the house for the night. They all wrote a card with condolences and even did a special ribbon for his paw print. I wouldn’t have known what to do if it wasn’t for Stanley.Fast forward to yesterday. One of our dogs hurt her leg. Stanley got us in the same day and did X-rays and splinted it for us. They were so good with her & we’re super quick too I expected to be there forever because we weren’t on schedule and they did all they could to keep my girl comfy. You won’t find a better vet than Stanley maybe cheaper but never better. All the vets and their techs are phenomenal. I couldn’t say thank you enough.”

“Dr Wilcox has treated each of my animals with so much care. She really individualized each of my pets care and understood all their needs. Most recently our cat had some mysterious goings on and had fallen very ill. It felt like the end was near but Dr Wilcox did everything she could, was able to find an obstruction and remove it. I’m so thankful everyday that I wake up and all my pets are still here thanks to her!”

“Been taking all of our fur babies here for the past few years. Dr Thompson is honest and doesn’t just jump to the most expensive treatment options first like some area vets do. They are trustworthy, friendly, reasonable and give my pups and cats awesome care.”

“At the height of Covid, I was traveling crosscountry with my dogs when my 11-pound senior dachshund-pomeranian, Quiver, received a laceration very near her eye. I fervently called every vet along my route, and 7 or 8 of them turned me down before I rang Blue Valley Animal Hospital. They took her in, and due to Covid protocol at the time, I waited in my vehicle. I was expecting the bill to be more than $300 because Quiver had a similar injury near her eye in the past, and it had required anesthesia to treat. The doctor was absolutely so kind, comforting, reasonable, and honest—he managed to do a few drops of glue to repair the tear, and I think my bill was no more than $60 that harrowing day. What a relief!! Soooo much gratitude to you, Blue Valley Animal Hospital!!!”

“Dr. Schreiber is phenomenal! I wish people would get this caliber of care from their healthcare providers! Dr. Leimer saw my kitty first and collaborated with Dr. Schreiber on her oral health needs. He performed her surgery. During the procedure he called me several times to keep me updated on how she's doing. He also called me the next day to check on her. She has been in so much pain and wouldn't let us pet her in the area of her head and neck because of her teeth and the amount of pain she was in. Now she's purring, happy and seems to be recovering so well thanks to the wonderful care she received. Thanks to everyone who took care of my little girl at BVAH. We are so grateful. Our puppy is next!”
