The SKT staff that answer the phone try hard, but they are understaffed. It's the owners of the company that made SKT a bad company. They pulled this latest trick with getting rid of sending TV through the cable system and now putting the responsibility of getting TV on the customer by streaming through the internet and wifi. And the upload speed is so low that it is immoral. One cannot upload backup files from the computer to the cloud while the TV is on due to the hideously low upload speed. The owners don't care obviously. As far as reliability, it is good as the internet does not go out often. And there are other problems that other reviewers talk about, and this review is getting too long, so I'll stop.UPDATE AFTER READING "Response from the owner": If streaming is necessary to use, then I can accept that. But as I said, the upload speed is immoral. It is horrible and unacceptable. The upload speed is also too weak to use Roku TV, which we want to use. If we have to wait until mid-2020 for a usable upload speed, then internet backups (very important!) and TV are going to be very bad until that time. Many in my town are VERY unhappy. My wife wants to watch TV and I want to backup files to the cloud - I can only do one and not both, and backing up to the cloud is VERY slow due to the lack of upload speed even if the TV is off. I want to thank SKT for answering my review. At least perhaps SKT is listening. And I want to repeat that the hard-working staff does the best they can.UPDATE 2024: Things have improved at SKT. The upload speed has increased and does fine for me now. I have upped the review 2 more Stars. Their service is still much too expensive, but all cable companies are too expensive. Additionally, my internet hasn't gone down for a year, and last time it did, they addressed it quickly. They have recently been bought out by another company which has some minor issues so far, but nothing that is causing me any grief. In a word, things have improved.

Internet has improved dramatically since fiber and the price has improved since Cox came to town.

Account apparently lost, I had to wait to see if I was in their coverage area, a call back a day or so later for them to say I was. So then I set up everything to be paid for only to call them back a few days later for them to say that the cable plan we had talked about was not correct, and that all of the information I had provided was unknown. The alternative plan that they set me up with was a wireless setup, the prices on which were outrageous! 2 stars for the people being friendly.

I have been a customer for 4 years and have had nothing but good experiences with every member of the staff I have encountered. They are friendly efficient and always very helpful and kind. I'm very sad to be leaving the SKT service area, and I wish I could take them to my new residence! By far the best utility company I have ever dealt with, combined with excellent internet service!

Guess I will adjust. I am being charged more for an unnecessary speed increase for service. That is one way to increase rates, eliminate the lowest rate. I will let you know if my service does or doesn't improve.

I have put off getting SKT for years due to the google reviews. That was a mistake. Bitter people post negative reviews and happy people just enjoy the service.We have had SKT for over a month and we are very rural. This is absolutely the best service we can get out here. I wish I had tried SKT earlier.Zero complaints.

SKT internet is wonderful. There are never any problems using the internet and if there is a problem, their trained service people are happy to come by your house and fix it for you. I highly recommend SKT internet. Try it you will be glad you did.

As a rural resident, I have very limited access to internet service. When we bought this place in 2016 we felt we had no option but to sign up for SKT. It was insanely expensive and they made us get a landline which we never hooked up. The employees we have dealt with there are always very polite and kind. The poor rating has nothing to do with them but the service was mediocre at best and has gotten so bad in the last few months we cannot reliably do anything anymore using their product. I pay an outrageous price every month for 65% uptime. Luckily my employer provides a cellular based technology alternative to I can function when at home. I plan to move away from SKT as soon as possible and have avoided calling them mostly because the front line customer service reps are so nice and I am so disgusted by the service I don’t trust myself to even speak to them about it. Do not pay this company for internet service!

I think this company has been charging my account for a couple of weeks now and I don't even know what it is, I contacted a *********** and that was an architect service that told me they don't charge anything to anyone, I just don't understand why I am being charged, I can't keep any money in my account because of that company.

We have had SKT for 4 years and have not had a new router since initial install. We had recently started having problems with being extremely slow and kicking us off so we called and they sent someone out. When the lady came out she said she didn't see why there could be a problem and I requested a new router- she told me she didn't think that was the problem and left. Still happening a month later I call again to specially request a new router (we rent our from the for 9.99
