I have been to so many different mechanic shops and as a woman, I am treated as though I don’t know anything (which I do, as I’ve done a lot of my own car repairs) but Mitch at automotive specialists is awesome!! Super down to earth and won’t give you anything you don’t need. He’s straight forward and honest and will explain to you why he is suggesting what he’s suggesting and will even take you back into the shop to see what he’s looking at if you want. We live on the west side of wichita, but we will drive the 45 minutes to go to Mitch’s shop; it’s totally worth the drive!

Had a problem with my 2019 Odyssey coming back from Branson. Had the whole family with me. Vehicle was almost dead. We were referred to him from Oriellys down the street. The shop was closed but was Mitch gracious enough to help us out. Mitch spent almost 2 hours diagnosing my van. He pinpointed the problem. The rocker arm oil pressure switch went bad. Also purchased a new battery, as mine was getting weak. Mitch was able to figure out a way to where to get the van running good so we can get home to McPherson. Never did he say he didn’t have time or to schedule it in. He charged me for the battery and a minimal shop charge. If I lived near him I would definitely take my vehicles there for service. Thank you Mitch. Ken G. McPherson Ks.

The owner & his son happened upon my baby sister stranded on the side of the road on a Sunday. A holiday weekend no less. He spent the afternoon going to get the part for her car and getting her on the road. Blessed to have met this beautiful soul and thankful for his help. I imagine his business is a reflection of his grace.

Fantastic experience. Sometimes there are things that you can't easily do on your own. Mitch and his crew were able to fix a stupid mistake within an amazing turnaround time. My Jeep is back to normal. Can't give enough positive words for my experience. Price was amazing. Thanks!

If you are looking to buy a salvaged vehicle, or maybe a vehicle welded together from two separate vehicles than this is definitely the place!

Nice staffing, but the service is not there? Almost had to go to litigation, and they farm out various repairs, so it's not everything under one roof! They live up to small town bad service hopefully they will get better.

We worked with Travis on getting the hood of my sister's SUV fixed/painted. Her whole vehicle looked great except for the hood. It was peeling and had areas with no paint, down to metal in some spots. Automotive Specialists made the repair happen. We were treated well and are happy with the results. They prepped and painted the hood and blended the fenders for a smooth finished look. The photos speak for themselves...Great job guys!Services: Auto body & trim repair

Did an amazing job of repairing my car after my husband hit a deer in it. One thing they really need to work on is communication with they're customers as this is a downfall of this shop. My car was supposed to be there 2 weeks and it was there over 5 weeks I had to call to get any sort of updates on it.Services: Painting

Was very informed of my needs. He checked his resources and provided the correct fix in a timely manner. In just a few days he had my car running great. Great place to get work done. Thanks, Mitch

I first experience was on a Saturday morning when they had like warning came on and the check engine light came on we already knew about issues with both of them but the headlight had seem to be a loose bulb went out while we were on the road as did the check engine or some other serious sounding issues that our Newton mechanic had been able to research enough to know it was not a dangerous situation but that resetting the warning might be temporary. When we got to our church another Priscilla’s Pet Pantryvolunteer told us about Automotive Specialists and its owner Mitch. Mitch spent hours figuring out how to change that headlight whose replacement generally requires a special tool that very few mechanics or parts stores possess. He also spent a great deal of time on the inter researching the code that caused the check engine light to come on. (turned out that - as with all older, high mileage cars we have owned - the gas gauge was inaccurate. Mitch would not let us pay him.As we waited we noticed that his salvaged title cars were much cheaper than any we had ever seen and were affordable. We bought what became my husband’s dream car.Recently a chain reaction caused by a driver who was going highway speeds came head on toward the car in the center lane and causing that driver to swerve toward my husband and him to swerve, lose control and take out a city pole that is almost directly across the street from the hospital. All of the car’s safety equipment functioned properly so the seat belts and other features like the crumple zones did their jobs and leaving my husband with whiplash and a few bruises instead of the broken sternum that might have happened if air bags had deployed (as happened to me two or three years ago when i was in a much older vehicle. Mitch came to the rescue again and helped us find a rental car that was much cheaper than any we had found. We are now in search of a car to replace mine which is going to our daughter to help pay off the loan she ad to get when someone stole her catalytic converter. Mitch is looking for a car to fit into our price range, as is Orr Nissan in Wichita who sold us the replacement for the totaled Nissan. This kind of service is very special to me after so many dealerships and mechanics took the “little lady” attitude of trying to sweet talk me into something i knew was not worth 1/2 half their asking price or trying to placate me while stbyje same time telling me there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The first time that approach was after a reputable mechanic diagnosed the issue but the dealership mechanic claimed it was just a thermostat. The second was when we test drove a car that barely made it up to highway speeds and, when we said goodbye and headed for the exit we’re surrounded by personnel trying to get us to reconsider. Another time was when our van kept slingshotting us to faster speeds while giving us little directional control. We were told we just didn’t know how to use the antilock brakes correctly. Being a fed up rebel i decided to test their theory and give their wonder brakes a try - until I got so close to the bumper in front of me I disengaged the system and went into manual brake pumping mode. (BTW years after we traded that van it was recalled because the van was two wheel drive but wonder brakes were for a four wheel drive vehicle.Another less than adequate experience was from a guy who tried us to but a used show room floor vehicle WITHOUT LETTING US DRIVE IT!!. He had us test drive a much fancier and completely different van. Then there was the dealership who sold us a van that - at the time - was still on the trailer after the dealership bought it from a rental car place. That van all but lived in the repair shop. We had a mechanic diagnose the one concern that seemed to be a safety issue as a bad boot cup. They refused to check the boot cup and patted themselves on the back about fixing the back row seat (they cut the bike lock and plugged in the middle row AC/heating controls.Automotive Specialists rocks!!
