Branch manager Mimi Eckart and assistant branch manager Debbie Leakey began the Gardner Price Chopper October 11 - 13 grand opening on October 8 with a radio remote and check presentation. They presented a Capitol Federal Foundation check as a matching gift to the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund. Mayor David Drovetta said the gift "ensures a great Holiday for area children who are less fortunate." There were drawings for several gifts, including the "Carrie Underwood Ultimate Experience".
