This place is literally INSANELY cool! All of the animals look impeccably cared for. The people are so nice! The facilities are so clean!
Several staff members went absolutely out of their way to accommodate us and as we walked around, I heard other staff doing the same. One guy even volunteered to drive out of town guests to the airport so they wouldn't have to Uber!
It is expensive but I'd gladly pay it over and over again to support this remarkable facility.

In my opinion it's by far the best zoo I've ever been to. Petting and learning about all the animals was a really fun experience!

The penguin experience is not worth it! Don’t waste your money. You don’t get to hold them or pet them except for twice when they walk them around, you get a 3 second touch. We spent nearly $300 just to sit there and watch them walk around (just one out at a time) while they talk about them. For an hour. Go to their feeding instead and stand there and ask every question you want. Absolute waste of money. Maybe the other experiences are better, you should call ahead and ask questions before booking.
Very sweet little park outside of the lame experience. We went during the week in September and it was dead, which made it peaceful and relaxing. It was nice seeing the animals, but the enclosures are small, which is sad. We did the regular day pass that comes with five feedings. The unlimited feeding pass I don’t think would be worth it since they’re scheduled feedings you have to show up at certain times or only on the hour. you can’t just stand there and feed unlimitedly, you get one or two pieces and then move on with most of them— 15 seconds with them tops (penguins, rhino, hippo, giraffe, and the only one you can pet is rhino, so that’s lame). The bunnies, kangaroos, tortoises, guinea pigs, and lorikeets you get like 30m with and pet them (lorikeets land on you). The lemurs are by far the best because you get to sit there while it climbs on your lap to eat. You still can’t pet them, but at least they touch you and get a more personal experience.
Overall the place is cute and well worth the price of regular admission during the week when you get $10 off a ticket. But beyond that I wouldn’t recommend or pay again for any upgrades, unless I called and found out you get some serious HANDS ON time with an animal, not just watching them in a separate room.

We worked with Ashlee to plan our corporate event. She was responsive and accommodating. As with all things, prices have went up, so unfortunately, we were not able to stay within our budget for our event with the cost of admission and food/drink. That's just the way it goes nowadays, it seems. But everyone always enjoys coming and feeding the animals!

This place is amazing! It's perfect for families and people of all ages and is the closest you'll get to some of these exotic species in the Midwest. The staff is excellent and you can tell they truly care about the animals' wellbeing and the guest experience. My daughter had the best time.

This was a first experience for our family. I was amazed at how close we were to the animals. The interactions we had during feeding the penguins, lemurs, lorikeets, and giraffe were so fun and memorable. I've avoided going due to it being a little pricey for our budget, but I am so thankful we splurged and went. It was worth every bit we paid! I can't wait until our next visit!

What a pleasant surprise and so glad I was wrong. Tanganyika Wildlife Park was by far one of my favorite experiences to date. Petting, feeding, and learning about these animals was well worth the price. If I had one complaint it would be the food service was so slow that it impacted our time to fit everything in, so next time we will take a picnic, but otherwise... WOW! We are already looking into a full weekend experience with as many of our grands as we can get to visit. This place did not disappoint.

We had fun but it was very hot so we ended our day in the Splash Park! We missed seeing a few animals because we were just too hot to stay! We’ll come back again sometime just not in the. August heat. All the staff was very nice, one staff member near the bunnies and tortoises seemed distracted and not too attentive, maybe it was the heat though! The staff at the lemur experience were very informative and helpful.

We felt a little bit lost, I would like to see more identification about the animals spread around and maps. The online map at the website has numbers but not description, it was really hard to understand. At some point, we didn't know if there was somethings missing or not. We bought the second option ticket and we didn't receive the souvenir/cup at the entrance, we had to go back and ask for it. We spent 3 hours to see all the animals with our toddler. It was a very nice experience but maybe I would take the cheaper option if I would know before how was the park.

Every personal we were in contact with were just wonderful.
The park was magnificent. Loved our time there.
It was recommended by my sister who has been there several times.
We enjoyed being able to feed the animals.
I think the Lemar feeding was a highlight of the day as well as the rhino.

No matter what type of ticket you buy, you are getting a very cool and interactive experience here! The staff are all kind and very knowledgeable about the animals. It is very clear they ALL really enjoy their job and care about the animals. These animals are definitely in good hands and thriving here. We have gone once in the past with a basic ticket and absolutely loved it and knew we would be back. This time we bought the best day ticket and we loved every experience we had! Also, my son is in a wheelchair and we were SO impressed with how the made everything accessible to him! It was also a relief that prices on food inside the park were not sky high like most zoos!

I have very mixed feelings about Tanganyika. Do the kids enjoy getting up close to the animals? Yes. But is it right….I don’t think so. I raised concerns today about the condition of 2 different animals (a kangaroo and a rabbit). The kangaroo was skin and bones and out where the kids could pet it and stress it out more. In my opinion, this animal needed to be back behind the scenes getting rest and care. I’m not a kangaroo expert but I know what skinny on an animal is. I alerted a worker and they gave me a line about her being older and also new and having health issues. Which is fine, but if that’s the case, why is this animal out for humans to bother and further stress?
I have a big issue with the Guinea pig and rabbit care provided. Multiple Guinea pigs were obviously pregnant, which leads me to believe that they were not keeping males and females separated or neutering the males. There is a huge overpopulation of these pets so I don’t know what they do with all the babies other than replace the older animals when they die prematurely due to the poor treatment they receive. It was extremely hot today and Guinea pigs should not be out in the heat. The Guinea pigs at least had access inside. Rabbits also shouldn’t be out in this heat. Yes, I know these animals live in these conditions in the wild, but these are domesticated animals that do not live in these conditions. There was a rabbit out who had a huge bald spot on his back. He had been scratched, either by another bunny or himself on this bald spot and it was red and irritated. I’ve had several house rabbits myself who I’ve provided regular vet care for, and I know a bald spot like that is not normal. The direction given was to use 2 fingers to pet the animals on the back, so of course this poor guy with the irritated back was trying to hide, but wasn’t very successful. I again alerted staff, who told me he was new and a rescue. She did call the keepers to come check on him which I appreciate. And again, it was so hot. Rabbits sleep during the day and are active first thing in the morning and in the evening so to throw them out in an outdoor petting zoo situation where they don’t have access to an escape is really not fair to them.
I know Tanganyika has zoo certifications, but several of the enclosures seem very small to me. I do not plan to visit when they raise their prices next year, but I hope as they do so, they will make improvements focused on the best interests of the animals, and not just the big-ticket animals, but every single animal in their care.

I took my daughter here for her Birthday. I was so disappointed we did the painting with the otter it was supposed to last 30-45 minutes. It lasted every bit of 20 minutes if that. For the amount of money you have to pay for this adventure it’s totally not worth it. I was really disappointed, Management need to do better with this one so sad!
