224 W Main St, Hill City“I’ll keep this short and sweet. Mr. Darris and Mrs Ida were truly the most genuinely nice, sweet, caring and SAFETY ORIENTED people I have ever met. Truly made me and my companions feel like family!!! If you ever get the chance to stay with them I highly recommend it!”
“First time back under the new owner and it is an amazing change. The hotel has always been a nice place to stay when out west hunting or a stop when heading to Colorado but it was a bit dated. The new owner has been remodeling the rooms and we stayed in one of them this time. Very well done..clean comfortable room.”
“Very comfortable and quiet place where I spent one night in late September 2022 while returning to PA from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I had taken the cog railway to the summit of Pikes Peak that morning, made a brief stop at Mount Sunflower before sunset, and was heading toward Beatrice NE to visit my great-great-grandparents' gravesite and Homestead NHP the next day. The rate was reasonable and Kathy is very hospitable -- I appreciate her family's efforts to preserve a historic 19th century building and offer an alternative to the chain hotels along I-70. She had the coffee pot ready the next morning, and before continuing east, I enjoyed conversation with a local retired veteran named Jim who had stopped in for a cup.”
