Been with HCU a long, LONG time- using the 23rd street branch most. HCU use to be great, but not anymore. The customer service is horrendous- nobody will ever give you the same answer twice- constantly changing rules & regulations. Nobody is there to help you with your needs, in fact they act as if it's a real pain in their ass to do anything for their clients. The tellers look as if they just rolled out of bed, all the while listening to awful music inside the branch "asking suri to skip a song right in the middle of a transaction" The branch manager is to blame - Gleysha Mendez, she's also horrendous, pretentious, and frankly super unprofessional. I, along with so many others within the community are super dissatisfied. This place hasn't been the same since Garth left- In fact it has gone down hill and fast. Currently searching for a new banking institution. Don't waste your time here if you are thinking about making this credit union your new place to bank.

Very amazing bank. Never had an issue with them. Recently I opened a business account and went in a couple other times. Everytime a employee, Jenny is there. She was insanely nice and helpful. She's really good at her job and I think she deserves a raise!

best place that I have ever banked at. So much so, that I continued to do my banking here for almost 10 years after I moved out of state. I was talked into switching to a credit union where I live now and I regret that move, and moved to another bank already. Heartland is the best credit union I have come across and they have reasonable fees. Everyone has always been friendly to me. Wish they would have locations in Nebraska.

They will not bother to correct their own mistakes! Heartland, should be called Heartless!

Love HCU in that we were able to get a 0 down mortgage to purchase our home, however, the payment coupon we were given at closing had the wrong HCU address on it so our payment wasn't received. Even though I had the cancelled check with the HCU deposit stamp including window and teller number who processed it, HCU could not find the payment. I had to pay $30 to my bank to stop payment on the check, thankfully since I had proof that my coupon information was wrong I wasn't penalized with a late fee. I got a call 5 days after July 1st, when 2nd payment was due, that they hadn't rec'd payment again, I looked at my bank and the payment was sent out and received by HCU on 7/1. The issue was that HCU has a company that processes their mortgage payment (Member Mortgage Services) I never received any information about MMS taking over the processing so my payment was made out to HCU with the MMS address. Thankfully I didn't have to pay to put a stop payment on the check and thankful that HCU called to check since we had the issue the first month. My husband opened a personal checking account with his paycheck and all was well until we deposited his 2nd paycheck (at a drive thru) they placed a 14 day hold on the funds even though his paycheck was issued from an account that was also at HCU. We had to call TWICE to get the hold issue taken care of. A few days ago we tried to deposit his paycheck again through the mobile app but it would not allow the deposit since it was over $1,000. Now he has to take time out of his day to call and ask that they allow more than $1,000 to be deposited. It has just been one thing after another.

Would stay away from this bank at all cost got a car loan here and have had nothing but problems. They keep saying I’m not making my payments even though I have ALL the transactions on my mobile app stating that they’re pullin the full amount every month. Where the money is going I don’t know regardless I have been trying to fix it since I got the loan (6 months ago) and they can’t seem to get it figured out. That or they just don’t care too because I’m sure it’s going somewhere it’s not supposed to. Anyways 0/5 stars on this bank stay away at all cost. Will be moving banks soon.

We went to open a new account. We asked if we could open an account using about $150 worth of change. The teller told us to go over and use their coin counting machine and they will use the receipt to apply it to the account once it is opened. After waiting 20-30 minutes we started getting antsy and asked when we would be able to talk to someone. After another few minutes we were told a representative was ready for us, they brought us into a room with a guy on skype. He immediately said he was having trouble with his audio then asked for us to scan in our drivers licenses. We did not feel comfortable with this interaction at all. We asked one of the tellers that appeared to be doing nothing, if we could talk to someone else, in person, and she said they don't have a manager at this location and no one could help us open an account. We would have to drive across town to speak to a manager. Since we couldn't open an account here, we now had a paper receipt with over $170. worth of change that we couldn't do anything with. A teller with a bad attitude said she was going to charge me 10% to get the cash back. This is after they could not open an account for me and they told me to use the change machine. She finally "waived" the 10% and I got my cash back and I won't be doing business here. This was completely unprofessional and there is no reason there isn't always someone there, in person, who is able to open a account. Also, there were three tellers, that served 3 people (including us) the entire 30-40 minute fiasco.

I've been a member since opening an account on my 16th birthday in the early 80s. They have stepped in several times when I have needed "home town" service when I was in a pinch, and their business bankers did a great job for me recently. I'm glad I have kept this account open while I've lived in multiple states, and I intend to keep it open for years to come. Their service keeps me coming back.

Awful customer service, bitter employees. Will never recommend them to anyone. I was a faithful customer for 5+ years and never missed a single payment on my auto or home loan, and I was treated like crap over one single discrepancy. Closed all accounts and went to DCU.

Pulling all my business out of this bank! During recent downturns in aircraft and COVID. This bank chooses to report to creditors. Even though the care act is enacted and it’s up to lenders, creditors and such to report they have been the only ones to do so in this time of layoffs and pandemic.

Awesome service and a system set up to serve their members. I pay all my bills through their online banking, and have several different free accounts for separate categories. They also offer video chat banking for 100% no-contact services. Highly recommend 10/10.
