I haven't had any work done here actually but if I was needing it I would choose this place. I had spoke with the owner regarding a automobile topic. He was kind enough to answer my questions and quite thoroughly. Professional to the point and no attempt whatsoever to try and advertise his business to me for my needs. Not that I would have had a problem with however, the fact that he was kind enough to answer a very simple automotive question without Any financial reciprocation was a sign of pure professionalism. And should the need arise, I would choose this business

Go with this man. Ignore all the bad reviews, he will take care of you and be honest and upfront with you about everything. Willing to work with you and listen to what you want and most importantly he’s good at what he does with over 45 years of experience. Highly recommend him all they way from resurfacing to balancing and such as simple fixe.

First of all John still has my engine to this day, he’s had it since early December and has yet to answer a phone call the whole time. I have spoke to John in person and every time he says “next week” well there’s been many “next weeks” still no engine. Recently I’ve decided I’m done waiting I just want my engine back and I’ll buy a Longblock but once AGAIN no answer and I need my engine for a core. I would never use him again, and my point of posting this is to get my engine back.

Basically lied to me for 6 months saying he was doing work to my car and never did. Then called the police when we confronted him. John's a crook

Jail is for the poor; not necessarily the guilty...John Day. I know you are a dime dropper now. I will not recommend your business to anyone. Everything that I said in my initial review was true. I took it down though, so your underwear won't be in knots. You were the aggressor. You shouted obscenities to me. You had me backed to a wall with a wrench one inch from my nose. I pulled my weapon from right front pocket; then you miraculously stopped talking smack. You left me all alone while you dropped the dime that was in your pocket. I was not guilty. You know, in hindsight; I could of let you beat me. Then; If I would of survived, I would of had everything you own. You would even then twist the facts around as to what happened to police. You would say I tripped and fell in your shop; when in reality...you split my head open with a wrench. So I chose to be alive and in jail that day; then to be a dead man at the hands of a psychopath like you...John. I was defending myself.

I took my car to him a few years ago. He let it sit for a couple of weeks and did no work on it. I came back to retrieve my car, and he said I owed him a hundred dollars for repairs. I said I was not paying for no work. John Day, then came into my personal space with a heavy wrench two inches from my nose. He called me all kinds of nasty names and was shouting at me. I was cornered to a wall. I pulled out a concealed police stick that was in my pocket. The owner then turned around and left me alone. I was standing there all alone while he called the police on me. I tried to leave. The police caught up to me. The police sided with John Day and arrested me for Aggravated assault. I eventually ended up doing 6 months in jail for pulling the weapon and threatening to beat him with it. There was no regard by the police that I was pinned to a wall with a heavy mechanic's wrench two inches from my face. John Day is not somebody you want to do business with. He has a bad temper, and rumor has it that the man is scandalous. I have heard rumors that he swaps out parts on vehicles that he works on, although I have never seen it for myself. If you do do business with this guy, better practice Open Carry of firearms, as allowed in Kansas now.
