The accommodations were good.Loved it here! Everyone was friendly and the rooms were big and super nice. Great hotel especially for the price. Rooms seemed very clean and nice. Would definitely visit again.

We LOVE Candlewood Suites! We actually got here 2 hours early before check-in, and Juan and Andy got us a room right away! he was so sweet. :) The rooms are great, they have free laundry available, DVD player and board games. We wish we had booked another night! Haha. :)

The check in was fast and easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the overall environment was quiet. The bathroom was clean including the shower. The parking lot seemed to be safe and well lighted.

When I checked in, I informed the front desk that the room was very hot, damp, humid and smelled of mildew. I was informed the hotel was full and I could not be moved. The front desk agreed to change the sheets so they would be dry. I left to attend the soccer game, and when I returned, it was very hot and humid again in the room. The front desk worker sent up a maintenance worker right away who agreed the room smelled. He fixed the A/C for a bit, but it broke again 10 minutes later. The third time I reported it to the front desk, I was offered two fans, a bottle of febreeze, and was assured the General Manager would call me the next day to provide a partial refund of $100. (I paid well over 200 for the room, and another 200 for the other room). The next day I was not contacted, and today I was informed by the GM Andy Kemper that I will not be refunded because I should have checked out and found another hotel if it was so hot and could not be moved. He offered me 3,000 rewards points but provided no solution and only blamed me. I will be filing a dispute with my bank to hopefully receive some money back. Unacceptable for the price I paid.Nearby activities: Close to Legends, Children’s Mercy Park.

Excellent place to stay. The staff is polite and willing to help you. The room was very clean. Their isn't one bad thing to say about this hotel

Who's giving this place 5 stars? Yikes.Many of the rooms smell like moldy, damp, stale cigarette smoke. Walls/ceilings are *thin* so if you've got neighbors or someone in a room above you, you'll hear everything.Wall thermostats are disconnected, so you use the controls on the HVAC unit under the window. Toilets don't flush very well. Internet is essentially unusable - it's so unbelievably slow.Location isn't great unless you're here for a race. Otherwise, you're 30+ minutes from anything in the city. Parking lot feels sketchy at night.For what this place costs per night, it needs to be a lot better.

The tub didn't drain. I was in the shower less than 10 minutes standing in this much water. The room clearly wasn't cleaned well before we got there. The employees were very nice though.

The only complaint which wasn't a big deal. The hotel was full. And only had 2 full sized beds left. I wish it had a queen or king room available.

I cannot speak for those that travel for leisurely purposes but I can speak for myself who travels very often for business.I hage come a long way as it has been a long week for me and there were a couple of concerns originally,, however -the young lady at the front was amazing and not only knew how to fix these concerns but fixed them herself swiftly.I may not always end up at an above and beyond hotel but when there are those people that are working that do go above and beyond, it definitely changes my outlook personally.

Staff treated us good. Hotel must not be in a great part of town, the front door gets locked at night and the front desk staff is behind plexiglass. Didn’t instill a lot of confidence. Air conditioner in room 135 sounded like a cement mixer - had to turn it off just to hear the TV.
