Went in for a much needed cut and brow wax and the stylist that helped me was Angelica. She was very thorough and gave me a cut I adore! And my eyebrows have some scars in them from when I was a kid but she worked some magic and made them look fantastic despite! Love my service today.Requested style: Requested short cut just above my shoulders with curtain bangs and layering.

I asked for one inch – just one inch – of shortening. Megan ended up cutting most of my hair. My hair was long enough that it could touch my chin, but now it barely gets to my nose bridge. Clearly NOT one inch.Worst haircut I have had in my life. Megan wanted to charge more than the standard men's cut fee, which I agreed to as I was expecting a high quality haircut.She ended up forcefully brushing my hair, which was very painful and inappropriate for curly hair. The bush came out with so much hair that I could see a big ball even with my glasses off. She was too lazy to wash my hair at the beginning, but then she gave up and washed it.She cut it very fast as if she wanted to just get done with it and move on, and she quickly handed my ticket and left my hair in a frizzy, ugly and unpresentable condition, so I had to rush home and shower before heading to work.It was a traumatizing experience and a waste of $40. I would have been better off saving my self time and money by cutting my hair at home – which I had done before for a while.Also, Beauty Brands doesn't have a feedback form, so I had to send my feedback in a "contact" form, and they have not gotten back to me yet or confirmed that they received my feedback.

Many great products and the sales are good; service is friendly and helpful. The small product bags are full of great products at a very reasonable price! Fun to go with family or friends and get self care goodies!

I am new to Lawrence and saw good reviews, so I was hopeful that maybe I would find a place I could count on for my styling needs.I had hair down to the middle of my back when I arrived and left with hair above my shoulders.I asked for it to be below my shoulders and knew that meant about 4-5 inches was coming off, but it ended up being more like 7-8 inches. Also, the layers were blocky, and I had to point it out after the blowout that the cut looked asymmetrical and clunky. That's when I was scared I was going to leave with a chin length bob if I didn't ask if another stylist could look at it to even it out, which is what it took to get it looking decent. That stylist took care of the problem quickly.Anyway, it is about two inches shorter than I wanted. I just think maybe the stylist was inexperienced or not paying attention to how much was coming off when trying to fix the layering.I am not into throwing names around or being mean-sprited, but stylists need to remember that it's better to cut off less to start with and let a client tell you that they want it shorter then to cut it too short and have an unhappy client. I did get 20% off the cut, and I did leave a 20% tip for the stylist even though I wasn't happy. I have had my hair shorter than this before, and I will figure out a way to rock this look until I can grow my hair back. I just really wished I had had a better experience.

I went and got my haircut yesterday and I absolutely love it! I was nervous because I went to a different salon to get a “wolf cut” and they completely messed it up and made it look awful. Noel at beauty brands had a consultation with me and she gave me the best look ever! I will definitely be back now that my trust is restored with hairstylists. I've been going almost weekly to a new stylist (Jenna Willis) since around the beginning of this year. I have been introduced to so many new things, thanks to her, and felt we really were starting a great client relationship. I only had one issue ever really, and it was the last time my hair was highlighted... (wasn't burnette at all but was extremely brassy to almost red in color). Jenna re-did the color the first of this month which was an improvement, and she does beautiful blowouts and styles... every time! Despite that one color problem, which we discussed together, she has been fantastic and always has new ideas to try that I'm grateful to learn. That being said, I didn't even want color applied to my hair today, but I had booked her services over a week ago for a simple shampoo, blow-out, style. I arrived on time but was basically asked to leave upon arriving... (between both Jenna as well as the store manager who I also spoke with). Jenna told me she was "not the stylist for me and would no longer be doing my hair." I did NOT receive a phone call PRIOR to driving there, NOT given any specific information, DIDN'T get to say MY side of whatever had occurred, or anything. I had plans tonight (Sat) and was counting on her services,... (again, with a BOOKED APPT over a week ago). No other salons in town are available after 6:00 PM (my appt time) or were already booked since this was extremely last minute. I am completely heartbroken by how I was treated (along with not getting my hair done and losing my newly-found, great stylist). I don't know what was wrong/happened, but I was treated like a terrible person, was completely embarrassed, and NEVER deserved to be treated like that (esp when today wasn't even about color nor was it a new stylist for me). I just wanted a shampoo. I'm still feeling blindsided about everything that took place tonight, wasn't given any advanced notice of this cancelation, and could not even defend myself nor given a chance to say anything. I just had to leave (per Jenna AND manager), and be careful of their lash lady, Andy. That's ALL I had done leading up to the event: lash lift. Wow, BB!

I called ahead and asked if any nail techs would agree to wear a mask during my pedicure. We are being extra cautious as we are trying to board an airplane. I was assured that Megan agreed to wear a mask. After I arrived and we began, I reminded her of the agreement. She then claimed that she didn’t have a mask. Had she not agreed when I booked, I would have simply skipped the pedicure. After 15 years, I won’t be returning to Beauty Brands.Service: Pedicure
