Cottins Hardware & Rental is the best hardware store in town and in Lawrence. It is a local, family-owned store, not a giant corporation. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. They always offer to help find what is needed and go the extra mile with excellent customer service. They are as invested in customer success as the customers themselves. The store is also known for its wonderful community markets, like the farmers market in the parking lot, which is a huge community service. People feel like a person, not a transaction, at this store.
Staff are always super knowledgeable, the example products are super helpful, and it feels ethically great to shop here.

It’s our local hardware store and it’s the best! Linda and the staff are wonderful to deal with. Helpful, attentive, and on top of things. And they have dog treats for the puppers when we bring them with.

Cottins is such a gem in our community. They are experts on all things house repair, have all the supplies you could need, and are so friendly and helpful. The icing on the cake is the that they also create community by hosting farmers markets and other local events. We’re so lucky to have them in Lawrence.
