Misspelling names in an obituary is something that can and very well should be checked and double checked. For an obituary to be posted on a website with as many misspellings as ours, it was neither proofread nor done with the thoughtfulness deserving of the situation. Especially as my wife specifically made mention of the misspelled names when Susan showed us the rough draft! So uncaring and completely unprofessional! My MIL(the recently deceased) had already decided to use Lawrence Chapel Oaks back in 2008. She received a quote from the owners at that time. The new owners did honor that quote so there's that. We are currently(11/1/24) trying to get Susan to fix the mistakes in the obituary.

Very kind and very communicative with both me and my father. I was very pleased with Susan and her son and all the one on one support we received.

With my mom’s passing over the holiday and no existing funeral plans, I was suddenly thrust into the world of hospital decisions, funeral arrangements, obituaries, headstones, burial plans and more. I took a bit of time to do some research, crossed my fingers for the rest, and contacted Chapel Oaks.I was put in contact with Susan and it was suddenly refreshing and reassuring to have her professional assistance through it all. Communication was great at every step, all options were given in clear and understandable terms and she was always willing to offer suggestions based on the general plans I had in mind. If you have ever felt rushed, hurried, pressured or up sold while buying something – this was the exact opposite of that. One thing that really stood out, and I didn’t even realize until we were well into planning – but if I had to call with a question, or she called me with any updates, it was more than a simple ‘business’ communication. She always took time to ask how my day was going, chat about local happenings, or take an extra moment to share in remembrances of my mom and moms in general.

We cannot speak highly enough of the service we received at Lawrence Chapel Oaks. Our brother died in Kansas but his entire family was out of state. Susan and the folks at Chapel Oaks handled the arrangements for us with kindness and professionalism rarely seen today. We will forever be grateful for all they did. Susan's tender, Christian spirit made all the difference in our time of loss and grief.
