I went in for a CVT fluid exchange, I got home and noticed on the invoice that they used ATF in my CVT. I went back the next morning and Tony told me they used ATF/CVTF. The car still wasn’t running correctly, so I was confused. He then went on to tell me that they couldn’t even do the fluid exchange because the fluid was too dark and there was metal in the fluid. Said not to drive the car and take it to the dealership because it’s still under warranty. No one told me this after the ‘service’, I assumed it was completed and paid the full price. He was rude and used the phrase “I don’t expect you to understand” when explaining it to me. I went to the dealership and they didn’t find ANY metal in the fluid and did the fluid exchange. I ended up having to pay almost $500 at the dealership because Tony told me my CVT was failing and I had to get a diagnostic done. The main problem was a faulty stoplight switch, which can cause issues when communicating with the transmission. I went back to Midas to get my money back and told him this. He refused to believe this was the issue. He lied to me several times as well. I have google, of course I fact checked him. There are plenty of good and honest mechanics in Lawrence, please don’t go to Midas.

Kristi is great! And when Bill was there it was even better! I'm now 95 precent sure they screwed up my oil change. I had Zero leaks! After my oil change in October bill replaced My water pump and saw 0 leaks! But soon as their oil tech replaced my oil "I had a stripped screw" then it was timing sealant for the gasket, set a time to come back in and Toney was brought me more issues. (Sorry none of this was wrong before) I left Tony the owner can't admit that they screwed up blames it on another issue. I went and had another mechanic look at it and said they messed up! But Tony and midas ain't gonna admit to that! Like I said Bill knew exactly what He was doing and was even helping out other techs too! Sad how it flipped upside down after. Don't Go here don't let them touch your car! Go to Garber or D&D or go to Westside 66 And Carwash get a honest repair.

UPDATE: I will never return to a Midas due to the manager Tony at this location. I returned to Midas after I had my brakes and rotors done all the way around because the rear was grinding. Midas paid to replace the work due to their previous mechanic that worked there messing them up.
A few months later the front rotors and brakes started doing the same thing (all under a year of initial work) When asking a simple question about how I already needed new rotars and brake pads in the front, Tony asked me why I was looking at him like he was dumb and became very hostile. He was very rude due to the fact that the time before Midas had replaced everything that was messed up and things that got messed up due to the bad mechanic work (not while Tony was manager). He kept saying I don't know why we replaced all this last time for free! Making me feel bad that Midas took responsibility when I brought my car in for a brake check, which he knew NOTHING about because he was not even at this location. Called me a liar about how long my car had been making the noise. During the visit I paid for the service I received. I was called 30 minutes after leaving by a regional manager I believe, that they would be refunding me because it was all still under warranty! A few hours later I called and politely asked for a new invoice and was told to "Do not return" by the manger Tony. What kind of manager acts like a child to their customers? So pretty much due to the fact that Tony was upset that I had questions and the previous mechanic had messed things up and Midas paid for the mistakes I was treated like I was a piece of shit by Tony. And I got charged $369 when it was all under warranty. I hope he doesn't try to scam anyone else out of money because he's having a bad day, or for no reason has an issue with them.
Friendly staff, got me in and out quick without being scheduled!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went for an oil change and after leaving my car was extremely loud. Come to find out they took OUT my cabin air filter, DIDN’T put it back and then left the casing OPEN. Luckily a better mechanic caught it before any serious damage was done. After calling and bringing them receipts of the work done to fix their mistake, I’ve just been told “oh we’ll call you back” and then I never hear from them.

i went in for an oil change june 20 around 1:30 pm, and was helped by a woman who said she had just started working there. i wish i had caught her name, because she was knowledgeable, kind, and did not make me feel stupid for not knowing anything about cars. as a young woman i’m used to being treated badly in auto shops by condescending older guys, so i was so happily surprised to interact with this employee! she explained everything to me in terms i could understand, and did not make me feel pressured at all. i cannot say enough good things about my experience with her!! she was so wonderful.

I went for oil change with a coupon noting $59 for full synthetic oil. They charged $82 in total. I realized that the engine air intake hose is ripped off. I asked for an estimate, and they said they can fix it for $270 in total. I did it for $92 in total four years ago. I asked a quote at another shop, and they gave me an estimate of $91. The part costs usually $15 to $25. It was exchanged in less than 20 minutes. hmmm.....
