I thought this Springhill suites had great space, friendly service and big rooms at a great price. Located at a perfect spot in Lawrence. Would definitely stay again.

A great location with wonderful views, though it could use some refreshing. On the good side, Dave, Carnie, and a few people whose names I didn’t catch at the front desk (we were there for four days) were wonderful. They dealt quickly with questions and requests and seemed genuinely happy to interact with guests. The breakfast buffet was outstanding over the weekend, and the fellow keeping it up was really friendly. It was off a little Monday and Tuesday as more pre-fab breakfast items appeared, and scrambled eggs disappeared (what the heck is a “frittata” anyway, and who thought they were a good idea? It looks like the Marriott people bought a couple million, however). The rooms are spacious and set up well though I’m sure there are those who would lament the paucity of USB ports and small televisions. The guest laundry was also quite welcome, and it was clean and functional. On the bad side, the pool and fitness center were closed for “maintenance” over the weekend though I saw no “maintainers” while we were there. As I mentioned, the building, except for the lobby, could use a refresh. The bathrooms have aged, and someone has sealed shut the cheap windows that have marvellous views of the river and left the windows very dirty (the dirtiness goes for the public area windows as well).Every public access point seems to be an employee “smoke break” area, and the door to the city’s walkway on the riverfront smells like a Phish concert. We’ve stayed at the Spring Hill Suites a dozen times or so since it opened, and it’s great to see that the management has hired such friendly and efficient people for the front desk (it hasn’t always been the case).A nice, clean place to stay if you’re visiting Lawrence, and the staff is as accommodating as any I’ve met lately.Walkability: Easy access to Mass Street restaurants and businesses, and the City of Lawrence has a nice collection of trails that can be walked or jogged.Food & drinks: Breakfast is a large spread, and except for the “frittatas,” which I believed were planted by aliens to see how gullible we are, the spread is more than adequate.Noteworthy details: A great view of the Kaw River. You can see herons, cranes, and many other birds in the morning, and once the river starts to freeze, there will be Bald Eagles catching fish in the open water below the spillway.

Room was very spacious, especially for the price. The room was about the same size as my first one bedroom apartment when I was younger. And All the rooms have a nice view of the river. The location and dedicated parking lot makes it an ideal place to stay for downtown events. There is also a hot breakfast service in the morning that is actually pretty good.

We had a Thanksgiving getaway to Lawrence & so enjoyed our stay at the SpringHill Suites. The suite was spacious & well designed with a comfy bed, wonderful pillows, little frig, microwave & mini coffeemaker to get you started before heading downstairs for the complimentary breakfast. Great variety of breakfast options prepared happily by the staff. Jack checked us in & took excellent care of us during our stay. All of the staff seemed happy to work there & were very friendly, helpful & kind. We plan on staying at the SpringHill Suites the next time we head to Lawrence for a getaway.

Great place to stay for an extended business trip. Very clean, comfortable and friendly. The free breakfast each morning was always delicious, with a wide variety of foods for everyone, including vegan options!Rooms: The bed is super comfy and the couch is HUGE! The office area was a great touch.Nearby activities: So many shops and restaurants just a short walk away. No chain stores, just local charm!Walkability: Close to fun activities and next to the river for a relaxing stroll.

We stay here a lot, and the woman who usually runs the front desk is always lovely and helpful. I love the rooms with views of the river and always make use of the hot tub. Great Marriott, if a little outdated. 5 stars for me within its category of 3-star hotel.

What a pleasant experience! Coming from the Northeast I was blown away by how genuinely kind and helpful everyone working at the hotel was. The room was very nice and spacious, with a separate area for working. No issues with wifi and the breakfast was great. I enjoyed the sausage gravy with biscuits a lot. We also had a nice view of the Kansas River even though the river itself wasn't that nice when we were in Kansas. Such an easy walk downtown as well, maybe under 10 min to Waxman Candles. Two thumbs up for this hotel!

Hosted a family reunion here in July 2023 and everyone was pleased with the customer service, the breakfast, and the proximity to Downtown Lawrence. A great stay.

We were in town for a wedding that started at 5:00 PM. Tried to get in our room at 1:30 PM. We were not able to get in our reserved room to get ready until after 4:30 PM. We ended up missing the wedding. I am not happy!

Even though I'm not getting it five stars, this is a really nice hotel. You do look out over the Kansas River. The rooms are very nice. They do have a great breakfast and the service is great.

Nice place to stay. Nothing really amazing about the riverfront here though, so if “water” is your thing, this place is not for you. Overall the major points to the rooms were good. AC worked. Friendly staff. Comfy bed. However, the rooms are starting to show their age. The 20 year old microwave in my room was quite entertaining to use and some of the laughable drywall patchwork in the bathroom makes me slightly curious about the lifecycle of this building as a hotel.

Not like most Springhill Suites. Every Room has a river view which is pretty cool. It a neat place to stay just because its different than the norm.Walkability: Easy to walk to downtown Lawrence.

I've stayed here a couple times and I really like this place. Lovely that all the rooms overlook the river.

This building is not meant for a hotel. Rooms were very small. Good luck having service in room. Had to go to the top floor just to get my work email. Lobby is nice but alot of just empty space around the hotel. Make sure you bring your walking shoes. Didn't see any side entrances or anything like that. Just seems very off to me.

Don't bother! Very disappointing! $400 a night for dirty towels on the back of the bathroom door upon check in, moldy food in the refigerator, very poor lighting in the living and bedroom areas, wallpaper badly coming off wall above tub, bathroom caulking looks terrible, a five year old could have done better, hot tub drained and closed, pool freezing cold. Have canceled future reservations here and gone elsewhere - not worth it!
