The pharmacy is fantastic. Kelcy, Lisa, and Grace have always made me feel important. However, we got charged for a pickup order, the hold didn't fall off and the real amount went through, over drafting my account. Then I called the home office and all I got was am automated thing eventually telling me that the charge would fall off in 3 to 5 business days and they couldn't expedite it any!! Don't use the online pickup order, they will screw up your bank account!!!

I can NOT say enough good words about this pharmacy since switching here some years back now!!! I can't even say anything for myself that it took us sooo long to switch away from the horrid service of local Walgreens. Drove off to Colo for a trip leaving my meds bag behind and have been sick from Nexium withdrawal for hours in the parking lot of Alamosa, Co Walgreens despite Dillons fielding our calls twice or thrice and having forwarded my scripts long ago! We can't wait to get back home and enjoy the paradise you all supply to a sick old lady reliant on many medications Dillons! YOU ROCK!

This is quite a store. It is a very impressive store. There was a remodel a few years ago and this store was all fancied up. Too fancied up, in fact. I liked the old Dirty Dillon's. The front of the store is now cold, impersonal stone looking constructs. It had much more character, better parking, happier people. Change is hard, I suppose. The new store seems narrower and darker. There is definitely a squished parking lot and spaces are at a premium with this store. The entry seems smaller, too. There does seem to be more selection regarding the deli and hot case items. The cheese section is larger and there is a sitting area near the front of the store. They have added a Starbucks for the safety of all humanity. lol. Granted, there are many improvements from the old store. This store seems cleaner and more upscale. I just miss the old store and the character. Part of my angst with the new store is just unfamiliarity. I do not have a clue where anything is located now. I was at the register last night and in a a rush, per usual, and realized I had forgotten an item. Foolishly I thought I would just bop over and grab the item and *poof* get in line again. Then I realized I had no clue where the item was located. In the old store, I could have located the item blindfolded. I checked out sans item and sadly came home. While they have added some departments and there are more product choices in the new departments, I feel like product choice in other areas decreased. It just seems they made room for fancy cheeses by cutting back on choices in paper towels, if that makes sense. The staff has always been helpful and I appreciate them for putting up with my grouchiness. They always manage a smile and help. The prices seem to be the same and there does not appear to be any major change on this front. Perhaps if I were more amenable to change I would like this store better. I am not a fancy person and they have made this store to be what Lawrence needs to avoid- pretentious.

My friend was talking about how she got chips but forgot salsa after checking out, and the manager, Marc, came up and and and brought us salsa because he had overheard us! A small act of kindness that made our whole day!

If you're looking for actual job growth and recognition from a money hungry scrooge like Kroger, you're better off applying elsewhere friends... A buddy of mine who used to work for Kroger, one of the most customer friendly local cashiers here, declined a liquor sale to minors, only for the managers to harass him for not making the sale despite the fact its against the law! And don't bother to call corporate about your rights as an employee doing your job because they're more concerned about the $$ than taking care of the people whom make this company successful, so it's no wonder customer service and employee experience is as ghetto as it gets! And don't be surprised when the head manager (only at this location!) suddenly wants to charge you for those extra paper bags because she thinks a mega corporation like Kroger is so concerned about losing 40 whole cents a bag! No human consideration for the working middle class :(

The store is well stocked, the staff is friendly. My issue is the pharmacy. Always very slow service. Weekends seem especially understaffed.

Very surprised to read the reviews on this store, but I also realize that many of them apply to the former store at the same location which has now been replaced with a newer model. It is a smaller store, but for the size it has a great variety and a lot of interesting items; I always find something new to try. They have a small selection of things in bins to buy by weight, a couple of aisles of organic items (in addition to refrigerated and frozen organics displayed elsewhere), a salad bar, deli, olive bar, good selection of cheeses, a pretty good bakery, and great discounted items (not expired, but maybe close to it and deeply discounted). The store is clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. I have been shopping at this location for about a year and have had no negative experiences. I've never had a problem with the parking lot or customer service. I have no experience with the pharmacy. Love the store!

If you're looking for a full fledge grocery store please head to another one of the Dillons in town... This place had a restricted selection due to its size and makes it hard to go grocery shopping like you normally would at another full size store Great for picking up a few things though!

Excellent place to get groceries on Mass St., and this weekend they were giving away free hotdogs and hatch chili peppers for "customer appreciation". I come here about every weekend on more than one occasion. There's also a Starbucks inside, a microwave, ATM, gift cards, liquor, KU swag, and a place to buy cold beverages of all sorts.

As my first time shopping at this location after hearing less than stellar reviews of its previous incarnation, I didn't have high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that this store seems to have all the conveniences of it's larger 23rd Street sister store, but still maintains the feel of a local market. small, yet clean and well lit. My only complaint is that the staff seems to drop to a skeleton crew by 8:30, taking the deli, bakery (,etc) staff with them, so after that, it's really only good for off the shelf shopping.

This review is for the pharmacy. (I give the store itself 4 stars. Outside the pharmacy, great customer service, average selection & prices for a new grocery store, & a world away from the dirty, old Dillons they leveled that was located here a couple years ago.) I've had a bad experience with customer service in the pharmacy here twice, and will not be using it again, even though I'm only a block away. I miss Round Corner. Once was on Halloween (which I chalked up to no one wanting to work on Halloween) & once the beginning of January when they had no excuse for the service I received. The most recent experience, I was sick in bed & my husband dropped my prescription off for me in the middle of the day. On my way to work that evening (I had to go in) around 4-5 hours after dropping off the prescription, I stopped to pick it up. When I approached the window, two people (one the same person--among several-- who gave me bad service on Halloween, & I'd soon learn is the manager) were sitting, eating & gossiping. The manager greeted me, checked for my prescription, said my insurance info needed to be entered (which my husband had did when he dropped off my prescription), & that my prescription was not ready for pick up. They let me know no one was ahead of me & they could fill it right then, as if this was good news. I have no clue why it wasn't already filled. They were clearly just hanging out, not working, not on an official break. (Come to think of it, are they even allowed to eat at the same counter they dispense medicine?) The two people started filling my very standard prescription right away. I stood there, feeling horribly sick, with my eyes glued to the clock afraid I'd be late for work. It took them about 20 minutes to fill it. All in all, it was simply really bad service. Twice.

Poor customer service. I have been a faithful customer at the Mass St. store since 2007. Recently, when a damaged egg carton spilled large amounts of raw egg on my clothes, store manager Misty refused to offer any sort of sympathy for the inconvenience and refused to assist with reimbursement for cleaning products or services needed to remove stains. She seemed completely fine with losing me as a future customer.

Pretty negative experience with the pharmacy here. Coming from another state, our insurance card isn't separate from our prescription plan card. Would be nice if the pharmacist wasn't a condescending jerk, insisting that we were wrong, only to realize fifteen minutes later that we weren't, and never apologizing. For future reference, even if we were mistaken, which we weren't, there's no reason to talk down to out-of-state visitors. Or, you know, any customers.

This is probably the most charming market I have ever visited. The employees are super-nice and go out of their way to help customers and make them feel welcome. It is clean and is open from 6 till midnight. As a visitor to the area, I am perplexed by some of the previous reviews. This store is a little gem and is a fine contribution to the local community. Kudos to the employees!

Of course, it's probably a waste of time reviewing a corporate behemoth like Dillon's, but maybe, just maybe, someone from corporate will read it. I really have a stake in this. So does my family. I go back a long, long time with the old dirty Dillon's. You've heard the term. The ghetto Dillon's, etc. A term that was earned, not given. I love the fact the company built this really gorgeous, modern new space. It's inviting, the deli is nice, the selections generally in line with what we expect, you aren't embarrassed to shop there like the old location. It's a darn nice store, one of the best in town. Oh, and they have a little corporate Starbucks. How cute. But here's what steams me about Dillon's, and I can find a dozen neighbors in my block that'll agree: much of their produce has already headed south by the time you get to it. Is it really too much to ask for a fresh head of lettuce, parsley, leeks, kale, fresh herbs? Why can Hy-Vee and Checkers do it better, and the Merc far beyond all three? Sure, you pay more at the Merc, but you get what you pay for. Cooking is all about fresh ingredients. At any Dillon's in town, that's a crap shoot. Come on Kroger, get real. I like the new store, but it's just average with the produce the way it is. The meat counter could probably use some attention too but truth be known, with the Merc, Steve's Meat Market in De Soto and The Local Pig in KCMO, the need just isn't there for me to give them much of my business on the protein side of things. Fix your produce, Dillon's. We'd all spend a lot more money there if the quality improved a notch or two.
