A little over a year ago we refinanced our home, It was a pretty smooth process. During the process, I asked if they resold their loans to other mortgage companies and Kelly told us that they didn't. Yesterday we received a letter letting us know that our mortgate loan is being transfered to another servicer. This is pretty normal and standard but it is super annoying when i specifically asked and was told they didn't do this. Having to work through the whole process of the transfer can be a big pain in the backside and not something I wanted to do during the holidays.

My initial interaction with Tracy Geer MLO, was not a positive one, I was trying to make an offer on a home in Kansas City and when my realtor recommended First State Bank and an MLO because of the difference in closing costs from NEXA Mortgage, I then spoke with Tracy, but she was the most negative person I have ever dealt with trying to update a previous pre approved VA loan. After speaking with Tracy the very first time, I told Tracy, that because she was so negative I didn't want to do business with her but she called me back later that day and rectified her attitude, which changed my mind .. so I submitted all the paperwork she requested, called her back and told her I wanted her to run my credit and proceed. Unfortunately, i misinterpreted Tracy's commitment and after I hadn't heard from her for over a week, I called and asked her manager if something was wrong.... about 20 minutes later I received a call from Tracy .. asking me to again unlock my credit.. I asked her why and she proceeded to defend her complacency .. she rudely said ,do you want me to run it or not. I called back to First State Bank and spoke to Barry a senior loan officer and apparently both Barry and Tracy Geer went to the same school of negativity. It is my very strong recommendation that you reconsider any attempts to do business with these individual loan officers as they feel customer service and a can do attitude are for everyone else but them. These individuals should be selling shoes at payless, not mortgage loans.

Absolutely great to work with on all fronts. I worked specifically with Tracy early on in the process, which happened to me my first time through the home buying process. I talked with her about all options well before ever looking at the housing market so that we could get pre-approved and know what we're working with. I had read quite a bit on everything, but some things are just better to talk to someone about. Tracy was exceptionally responsive and walked me through everything. I was dreading this part of the home buying, to be honest. It sounds like things can go wrong, or you'll be right at the cusp of an interest rate rising, etc. Not the case at all -- they locked in the low interest rate and provided very accurate quotes regarding monthly payments, taxes, etc. First State, and again Tracy, came as a referral from my realtor but consider this review a strong referral from myself if you're out there looking. It never hurts to shoot them a note or give them a call to see what you're working with... and again I recommend doing all this BEFORE going out and falling in love with a house!
