The dedication of this rescue is amazing!! I had a fire Jan 23rd 32° weather, everyone was fine Thank God! With no electricity my Severe Macaw was in need of a temporary home for a few days. I was calling everywhere and everyone I could think of googled and seen Beak n Wings Inc. Call the number no answer like all the others, I called them back to leave a message and the phone was answered!! I was very stressed with the fire worried about getting Shadow somewhere fast. It was way past their hours. She reached out to a member near me I had her safe at Chris and Tammy's within an hour. She hasn't been handled in quite awhile their son had her out and on his shoulder before I even drove off. I have been so relieved knowing she was in great hands while dealing with the fire and getting repairs done to get everyone back home. If your looking to adopt please this group is all about the birds and giving you all the knowledge you need to help you in every decision to adopt the perfect exotic bird for you. I have had Shadow since she was a baby she 30 yrs young, and they already just talking with them that will make me a better exotic bird owner.Thank You very much

This non-for-profit exotic bird rescue organization is not a breeder or a bird mill, rather a rescue center for those who find after buying a bird that it is not for them or rehoming birds who's forever home no longer works out due to life changes or death of the owners. They have a network of members who foster the birds in their own homes until adoptions can be set up, or house the birds at their rescue center. One of their main goals is educating the public on exotic bird ownership, and their adoption process though somewhat longer and more intensive than just buying a bird at a pet shop is aimed at preparing the owners for the challenges and knowledge needed for becoming a forever home to an exotic bird. We have adopted three now through Beak and Wings and would challenge anyone making a negative comment about the organization or the process to adopt to fully find out about the organization before criticizing them blindly.

Great place to volunteer and get to know some birds. If you are looking to adopt, their website is easy to navigate. I just wish they were open more often! We love visiting on the weekends though!

I couldn't say enough good things about this rescue. The facility is always clean and well kept, the people that work here care so much about the birds and what they do, it is a very close knit organization and they treat you like family when you choose to get involved. They are awesome as far as providing education for the general public on parrot care, and I love going to the events they do. An absolute wonderful place to both adopt and bring in your babies if you can no longer provide for them.
