I really wish I listened to reviews. Dr.Black was my son's pediatrician within a few hours of him being born. We've been to her doctor's office at least 7 different occasions the past year. My family members go there. I've recommend her to many of my neighbors. But after today, I can confidently say I'll never be stepping foot in there again and highly discourage anyone from going there. I want to preface by saying I am NOT anti-vax. However, when Dr.Black asked if I wanted the flu shot for my baby I said No. Dr.Black agreed that it was unnecessary since he wasn't in preschool and we were already in heavy quarantine at home. She marked in the record that I declined it. Fast forward to today. I get to the office and they said it's time for my son's second round of flu shot. I asked how that was possible because I specifically declined it. They said, OOPS, they gave it to him by accident! Apparently when they were giving him his standard 6 month vaccines they accidentally gave him a flu shot as well. Literally right before they give your baby a vaccine, they make you sign a paper giving consent. I DID NOT consent or sign for the flu vaccine. In fact, it is literally in my son's records that I declined the vaccine. I understand errors happen but Dr.Black's nonchalant "oh well this happens sometimes" attitude was incredibly off-putting. She said this has happened before and it's miscommunication between nurse and doctor. This time it was an accidental flu shot. But what if another accident happens and it's an extra dose of a vaccine already received, or a vaccine the child simply does not need? Then what happens? THEN will they change their protocol? Because right now, their system is broken. I'm worried this will happen again with another family. I've reported this to the ethics board but PLEASE do not go to this doctor. There is a reason she has such poor reviews. PS- My son also had a out of place shoulder from birth that Dr.Black didn't notice until he was 1 month old. She would tell us he's simply "stiff-shouldered". No, he wasn't stiff. His shoulder was out of place & we had to take him a pediatric physical therapist to realize this. Do not to this practice. They are incompetent.
