I had an amazing experience shopping at American Freight for my dishwasher! It was literally the only easy and seamless part of our reconstruction after water damage in our kitchen. My sales person was George and he was the best! He showed me all the dishwashers that had the features I was looking for and I found the perfect GE machine for half of retail price! And it didn’t even have any dents or major scratches!! They even let me store it there for much longer than expected when our project did not go according to my timeline. John helped me with the pickup, he made it so easy and loaded it for us! And I can honestly say I’ve never had fun picking up appliances until now! John and Mark were a blast! Had me smiling the whole time. All the employees I encountered were extremely courteous and above and beyond helpful!!! They definitely earned a lifetime customer here!

We had a great experience with this location. Manager John and Javier were great. My driver was running 1.5 hours late for the delivery. I gave them a call to let them know and to see if there is any way they could wait for my driver to unload him because it was getting close to their closing time. John, without any hesitation, told me to keep sending my driver and that he and his coworker Javier will wait for my driver to unload him. This was huge for us because my driver can make his final delivery tomorrow morning in Oklahoma and not waste all day doing two deliveries. Thank you so much John. Much appreciated!!!

Javier is your go to guy when shopping here. I got a great deal on a couch. This place is well taken care of, clean and professional. They have great furniture and appliances. I definitely will be shopping here again. Thank you Javier for being so kind! 10/10 recommend this store.

We are from Topeka and we came to Kansas city American Freight location and all of the employees were very helpful. Matt did the paperwork and showed us the items we were interested in and explained everything to us that was on the paperwork. He was very knowledgeable about all of it. John and Phil were also very friendly! We will definitely be back. Thank you guys!

Had an opportunity to work with Javier and he is amazing! Very professional, well spoken, and easy to work with. He tried to seek out a model I had in mind that was going out of phase and suggested ways I can perhaps obtain it in the future. I really wish they had more “similar model” varieties, but overall I was satisfied with my purchase.

Truck Drivers: Delivered 22 pieces off an 18 wheeler today. Folks were friendly. Store was clean. I called ahead and they met me at the back and started unloading immediately. A+ It's tight out front, but if your tandems are forward you should be able to slip out the front exit to Quivira.

This place is a joke. The employees are rude, disrespectful and very unprofessional. I don't want to leave any star. Where is the minus star button??!! We purchased a dishwasher on 12/6 for in store pick up. I had an employee of ours go pick it up, when he got back and un boxed it, it was the wrong color, So I call them and tell them the issue and I must have gone through 4 people before I could get an answer on exchanging it. Finally they agree to pick it up fee of charge, even though we did instore pick up and we schedule that for 12/8. 12/8 comes and goes so I call on 12/9, they said we didn't have your number to call you so we didn't attempt the delivery. Well um OK, we are a business, you have our name look us up. I hate excuses, anyway so we reschedule for 12/13. I wanted to call to make sure it would be delivered today so I call when they open at 10, phone just rang and rang and rang. I kept calling up until about noon so now I call corporate. They finally get someone to answer the phone and they connect me. I have never been spoke to the way this man did to me being the customer. I explained it all, he told me he didn't care who approved the delivery that I needed to bring the merchandise back to them and get the correct one, So I then tell him why his store manager approved the free delivery and he proceeds to argue with me. That was the end for me. I said I want a refund. He said bring back the merchandise and you can get one. That made me even more mad and I said come get it. I ended up taking it back to them and not a word was said to me. Not one word! But I did get my refund. I only had to spend about 3 hours of my work day on this. Ordered a dishwasher from NBF later that afternoon and got it the next day! My fault for not reading reviews. Looks like a lot of people have had issues with that store.

I should of just went to Nebraska Furniture Mart.... Fist time coming here.. not much difference in price compared to NFM. The worst of this experience was the delivery. Everything else fine. Bought a fridge on a Friday. Was told could be delivered on Saturday. I set up delivery for Monday. But I called Saturday morning as I was now free from work and was told it would be delivered Saturday.. it never came. Ok cool that's fine, was originally scheduled for Monday anyways. Monday rolls around and at about 3pm I called them and was told their delivery guy never showed up and that it would be delivered. Then at about 6 pm I got a call saying they were an hour away from our house. Then it got worse. First thing the guy does it hit on my wife when she answers the door. Then as he's getting stuff ready he's constantly arguing with his partner making this whole situation even more awkward for my wife as she's home alone while I'm at work... they stop arguing for a bit and start getting the old fridge out of the basement.. scraping and chipping away at my walls as they do.. .**mind you I just put the old fridge in the basement with a buddy a few weeks prior, right before it stoped working (go figure right ) and not once hit my walls**.. the new fridge was brought and wasn't assembled (maybe they don't do that but NFM does) so I'll be putting handles on and all that. My wife was very uncomfortable with them in the house as they hit on her and constantly argued with each other. I finally got my fridge but at what cost? Scratched up walls, chipped ceilings, scratched up hand rails and a pile up trash in my garage. 10/10 would not recommend simply for the people they hire to delivery the product. Only time will tell how good the fridge is. Will be using NFM for the rest of my life. UPDATE: I have tried contacting them, like they asked on this review and have heard nothing back.

The first time I visited this location I accidentally went on the furniture side versus the side with the appliances - which is where I wanted to be - and the two gentlemen there ignored me as if I wasn’t there; and only one even acknowledged me after I spoke up. When I was walking out I was really contemplating whether or not I wanted to do business with this company, but after I made it to the appliance side I was pleasantly surprised when the staff greeted me shortly after I entered the store and asked what I needed help with, which made me glad I gave them a chance. I didn’t purchase that day but I returned a second time and I met George during that visit. George, just like the “appliance associates” I’d met previously, was very pleasant and helpful, and he even followed up with me as promised. I’m so appreciative of his professionalism and interest in helping me purchase what I needed. Many thanks to George and the “crew next door”!
