We have had fiber internet and in the beginning we had a small problem. They found the problem and repaired it. We stream and watch local TV. The service and product is so very nice. We had the other service here in town and it would slow down so much in the evening. With mtc we don't experience this at all. We will never go back to that other service.

MTC used a bait and switch tactic with me. I signed up for the fiber 10 mbps/3 mbps speed back on January 13th because they offered $100 credit and free installation at $39.99. I was very careful to ask if my rates would increase if I signed a 2 year service agreement and was told in no uncertain terms that my rate would not increase. I was also told that my fiber would be installed in less than a week. Right off the bat, I started having issues with this company as they kept moving the dates they would install the fiber until finally 3 weeks later I was able to get someone out to actually connect me not to fiber but their version of wifi until a few more weeks they could get someone out to install the fiber. On May 10th I received a letter telling me my rate would be going up on June 1st due to the company discontinuing the 10 mbps/3 mbps service and that I would be charged for the new service of 15 mbps/3 mbps at $49.99. This high and more expensive service was available when I signed up and I choose not to get it but now I am being forced to have it. I called and was given the runaround and told to call back later when staff was available to speak with me. I called back the next time a few days later and was told the billing department phones were down. I call back and again in a couple of days and was told the entire staff except the receptionist was out for a funeral. When I did finally get ahold of someone in the billing department and explained my case I was told they can change their price at any time despite what I was told and there was nothing I could do and if I terminated my service I would be charged $200. Finally, I got ahold of the CEO of the company and explained the situation to him. He told me he would look into it and call me back in about a week. He calls me back today, the day before the new price goes into effect and tells me that because I was given the $100 credit and free installation they won't do anything to help me and he thinks they treated me fairly. I explained to him the reason I signed up for MTC was because of the offer and because I was told my price wouldn't change. He restated that he wasn't going to do anything and I was basically stuck in my agreement. Think twice before doing business with these people. If you find yourself being treated like me there are a couple of options that you have to deal with them. 1. Report them to the attorney general and complain about their business practices. 2. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau 3. Write complaint editorials to the newspapers of the cities in which they operate to share your experience. Currently Lyons, Little River, Sterling, Marquette, and Inman. (Rice, McPherson, Ellsworth, Reno and Barton County) 4. Provide feedback with the rest of the community on google. 5. Provide feedback on facebook and other social media to warn others.
