Found a sequence of 3 planes and a train to get me to my destination.Lost 1 star because of maintenance redundancy. Plane broke so we had to de-plane. Their mechanic was sick so couldn't work and with no backup they had to drive one in from KC. 5am flight became a 10:30am flight”

“My car died on I-70 while driving to Florida, to check on my 82 yr old mother, after hurricane Ian. I spent a full 24 hrs waiting for the tow truck, and another 3-4 days dealing with the insurance company, and the car dealership. At that point i was beyond ready to go. Just one problem: one-way long distance rental cars are hard to come by...especially in central Kansas. When i called here, they told me they had one available, and i immediately reserved it, and began plotting the 60 mile trip to pick it up. Uber/Lyft was prohibitively expensive (almost $200) and hitchhiking didnt work out as well as anticipated. I would have gotten a ride at some point, but not before they closed at 5:pm.However, when i called to extend my reservation, the woman i spoke to (Jessi) knew exactly how to ease my mind about getting there before they closed that night (Friday, not open until Monday) by finalizing all of the paperwork over the phone, and assuring me that the key would be waiting for me in a combination lock box (like real estate agents use) when i did get there.So, after a 60 mile ride on Greyhound (sandwiched between a couple of Ubers) i finally get to Manhattan Airport, pick up the car, and smash straight back to Florida... arriving just before my deadline.I cant find any place to drop the keys, when i return the vehicle, so i park it in front of the Hertz office, figuring I'll bring the keys back in the morning when they're open. I didnt want to be charged for another day, and there would be no question of where the vehicle was at. The next day, the lady who i turned over the keys to began telling me that they'd have to charge me another day, and the contract stated the gas tank must be returned full, and all of things i had anticipated i was gonna have to argue about when returning it. Once again, Jessi had it handled. Before i left that office, i had an email receipt for a total cost that was well below what i expected, and my $200 deposit had been returned.Bottom line, these beautiful human beings, the aforementioned Jessi, and a young man whose name i dont recall, (but thank you too) that i spoke to Thursday about noon when i first reserved the vehicle, made it possible for me to rent a nice SUV over the phone, pick it up and drive it almost 1500 miles, and then drop it off with no hassle for less than it cost me get from my hotel to the car (that Uber/Greyhound/Uber part). I'd rather be lucky than good, because no level of skill could ever match, let alone surpass, the kind, courteous, professional treatment that i received from Hertz Car Rental in Manhattan Kansas. ☮️❤️”

“This was the only rental place that had a vehicle after our car was diagnosed with an urgent condition. We went online and tried to secure a rental but turns out the online information is all wrong. The cars that show available, are not. So we were upset, not just about our car but about the rental that we had a confirmation for and weren’t able to get. But enterprise has a wonderful employee named Shannon that saw the upset and frustration in our being and she really did everything possible to make us happy.
