“We were looking to donate clothes, ball caps, a couple of jackets, and other items when we came across Be Able Community. They accepted everything we had as they used them to help support the homeless in Manhattan, KS. They inspect and clean the items before distributing them to those in need.
Be Able Community has two buildings; one with showers and beds and the other that offers individuals the opportunity to sit and watch t.v. or read a book while staying out of the weather. Both buildings were clean and well maintained because of the hard work and tireless efforts of the staff.
We do not live in Manhattan, KS., but we were impressed with the staff and everything they do to help those in need.”
“I am so grateful for this place. Just after my back surgery I really needed the help. Some weeks I still need help because of Dr bill's take so much out of my check. Recently they have made it to where we have to use our points for animal food. And if that's the case we should be able to claim them to get more points.”
“100% recommend doing a trail ride with Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center - Manhattan! It was so much fun, very relaxing, and our trail guide was awesome! She was very friendly, made sure we were set up properly at all times, and was very knowledgeable in horsemanship. The trail was throughout their property in the pastures, which was very pretty. We rode for two hours which was perfect. The first hour we spent riding the trail. The second hour the trail guide took us back into the arena to get comfortable trotting around and then took us back out on the trail and into the pastures to let us trot through them. It was an awesome experience. All the horses were very sound and safe making it perfect for a beginner rider also! As well, it was very reasonably priced and very worth our time there.”

“Manhattan BBBS is amazing! The team is great and found me the perfect Little. They also share so many great activity ideas and support our match whenever I have questions. They definitely have a passion for our community.”
“I just finished remodeling my bathroom. The old vanity, some shelves, and hardware were no longer needed. I called the ReStore and they sent employees with a truck out to my house the following day to collect everything - I didn't have to lift a finger. They were fast, friendly, and efficient in removing everything. It makes me feel good knowing that everything they sell goes back to fund Habitat for Humanity. If you ever need to donate items this is your place! AND if you are in need of furniture, appliances, or building materials this just might be the answer too - go check out their showroom today.”

“Update - I should have updated this a long while ago but after calling multiple times and leaving msgs, I did eventually get ahold of someone. It was just bad timing in general but the staff here have been wonderful and I have been thrilled to work with them on taking donations to the facility to help those in our local community. I will absolutely continue donating here as I have the ability.~~~~~~~~~~~I'm convinced that communication is not a strong point with the facility staff. I've called multiple times trying to donate literally thousands of pieces of brand new clothing, personal care items and toys. Left messages. No one bothered to call back. I know one of the staff that works there and she's even aware that my message was taken and forwarded. Yet I can't seem to raise a single person now in regards to donating. So I guess my donation is going to Salina Rescue Mission now because I can't hold on to things forever in hopes they might be bothered to return a message.”
“Morning Star has kept me out of the hospital and jail for almost two years now. I used to spend all my time in bed crying and feeling very bad about myself and because of morning star my life has meaning and purpose. Thanks to everyone involved!!!!”
“Nice post but the beer prices are horrendous. My wife does quarter socials there 2 or 3 times a year and I cannot recall beer prices being so expensive. I bought a beer tonight, Yeungling Flight, and it cost me $5.25 for a single beer. If you ever want to stop drinking then come on over to this post because the beer is expensive and I'm not about to pay over 30 dollars for 6 beers.”
