we got our first pup a couple months ago. i spent a lot of time researching different training methods and consulting with trainers in the manhattan area. Muttschool is quite a bit pricier than their competitors, however they align the closest with what works with my puppy (i prefer positive reinforcement)! he loves to go to class and he has learned a lot of different commands and has been socialized to many different things. the facility is lovely and kate is just the best! we will keep coming here for as long as we are in the area!

We had an in home consultation with our dog. The trainer was impressive and we saw her make changes in our dogs behavior in the hour she was at our house! We’ve also taken our dog there for playtime and he comes home exhausted and happy!

Mutt School has been amazing working with my dog Dudley. They have encouraged me to continue working with him and have reassured me that he is not an aggressive dog. I thought I was going to have to get rid of him because he was hard to control, but Mutt School has worked with him on his impulse control and other basic manners (which he is slowly improving at!) They are great about giving updates and always have something positive to say. I am so so so thankful for Mutt School and all of the trainers that work there!

The puppy classes were a good experience for my Aussie. The early socialization and confidence building have made a huge difference in our dog's development. At a year old now, we can really see how much of an investment it was to start him in classes early. We would have loved more one-on-one time with trainers, but with the very large class sizes it was impossible.

Love the puppy kindergarten... Honestly every puppy should experience this class... They really are knowledgeable and care for the puppies.

The time goes by really fast. I like how they have time for the puppies to kind of associate and play with one another and get exposure to other adults before the class starts. It's also great that they realize that kids don't really belong in that environment because they distract the puppies and they themselves need training about not just running up and overwhelming a dog. Sometimes the trainers have a habit of saying that things are right or wrong but they don't provide much explanation which kind of stinks but overall they're pretty decent about answering questions in class.I really wish they would limit the class sizes because it gets a little chaotic when there's a dozen clickers going off or people just randomly show up. Thankfully they did at least post a sign that says no more walk-ins You have to have an appointment which I think made the class a lot better.

We love Mutt School! The positive training techniques they use make learning fun and rewarding for your pup. I feel like all the trainers know and care about our dog, Ivy. She loves them too (especially Kate, GraceAnn and Mariah). They are patient with her and help us when we are struggling. I am often struggling, Ivy not so much. ? Both Ivy and I have learned so much and every moment has been fun. She is always thrilled to go to school. Her expression when I say "We have class" is the best! (Thanks to her training she sits nicely to get ready instead of going wild.) Ivy has attended Mutt School since kindergarten. She's now at 3rd grade level but at 10 months old she is not ready to try for her cgc yet. She's currently attending 1/2 day school to work on her greetings and impulse control before we try for our cgc or re-try 3rd grade. She's also attended Discovery Dogs classes. Ivy and I have big goals for her future. We'd like to find a sport she likes and we hope she can become a therapy dog. I have so much confidence that Mutt School will help us reach every one of those goals!

We absolutely love Mutt School! Koa has so much more confidence than he did before starting. He has only gone to 3 classes in the Puppy Kindergarten class and we both have already learned so much. He now runs into school ready to learn and play. I went in for a tour on Friday afternoon and Koa was able to start that following Sunday. So worth every penny.

We have a difficult dog (to say the least) his previous owners didn't train him very well (and probably abused him) making him fearful of people (and dogs) he doesn't know (though he absolutely loves us). After a couple of unfortunate incidents with dog sitters, we started taking him here for training and boarding when we're out of town. In the 2-ish years he's been working with the trainers and handlers here (once a week or so) he's made huge strides. They understand what he is and is not comfortable with and genuinely seem to love working with him. What's more he loves going to school, even after we've boarded him there, he gets excited to go back. If you have a dog that needs training, they're amazing, would highly recommend!

6 phone calls and 3 voicemails over a few weeks, to try to inquire about training for one of our dogs, none of which were ever returned. I'm convinced they clearly must not need the clients. Disappointed that a courtesy call to say "hey we aren't taking on more clients" wasn't at least given or a post made in their website/socials to convey.

It would be easier to tell you what I don't like about muttschool. The trainers and staff are amazing with the added benefit of wild cat pet resort next door there really is no better place for training your dog.

My dog drank 3 bowls of water when she came back home, seems like she didn't have water the whole day. I DID COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS WITH THE GIRL IN THE FRONT DESK AND SHE DID NOT CARE ABOUT IT SO I COMPLAIN ONLINE. I GAVE 3 STARS NOT BECAUSE I THINK THEY DO NOT TRAIN THE DOGS, BUT THE THINK THAT MY DOG DID NOT DRINK WATER AND NOBODY CALL ME OR TOLD ME WORRIED ME. They did not pay attention to this.
