I have banked here for years! Today I call to check my account balance which I do a couple times on a weekly basis. However, today Brian answers the phone, I announce who I am and what I was wanting he then asks me for my account number. No! That is not something I know by heart although I should. I have never had an issue in the past calling to get my account balance without knowing my account number. Anyways, he asks for it and I tell him I am unsure of what it is. He then states well if you can get that to me then I can tell you what your balance is. I then said excuse me? He said we need it for security purposes. That's completely fine! However, I call here multiple times a week and have NEVER been told that. After stating that to Brian he then says oh ok well I can get you your account balance then. Excuse me sir? I'll just take my debit card to an atm. Thanks for your help today! If this is policy it needs to be policy with everyone and from every teller in the bank! Let me just hold off on buying groceries for me and my child so I can run to the ATM because my bank wouldn't tell me my account balance because I didn't know my account number!
