Amazing venue for a wedding experience. We utilized the restaurant, venue facilities (ballroom, kitchens, living room areas) as well as rooms for overnight guests. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The restaurant in house proved invaluable as it was both convenient and delicious!Rooms: Each room is unique and offers both luxury items such as plush robes and very comfortable beds.

We spent the weekend at the Elgin for my son's wedding, and I would more than highly recommend this venue for any special event. When I mistakenly booked breakfast instead of dinner (rehearsal dinner) and called them the day of, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my mistake. The chef/owner of the Parlor even made a special trip into the city to gather enough ingredients for an additional 14-person dinner party. The food was incredible, both for dinner and breakfast! The rooms were beautiful, clean, and quite comfortable. One of our well-traveled guests remarked that their room was unlike any they had encountered world-wide.The wedding day was so special. The staff worked overtime to make sure rooms were available early so that guests could get ready. The hotel provided some of the most incredible photo opportunities, and @ashleysharberphotography did an amazing job capturing the beauty of the space and the participants! Ashley, the Wedding Coordinator, was a gift! She filled all the gaps, helping the day to run so smoothly.Thank you, Elgin staff, for giving us an incredible weekend experience!

Built in 1886, but a beautiful, updated hotel, exceptionally well-done. Rooms are not large, but very clean and modern. A nice common space and well-equipped kitchen on each level where coffee/tea with a Keurig is provided, and you can store drinks or food if you like. A bit out of the way perhaps, but worth the drive and worth the price.Jennifer at the front desk is super-pleasant, as is the owner. I doubt you would find a better place in the big city, let alone in a small town.

Elegant, intimate hotel with beautiful woodwork, lounge areas, and rooms. The Amelia suite is a wonderful room with a great jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Bed was very comfortable, and the food was delicious. The library was a fun room to relax in as was the game room.

Our stay at the Elgin Hotel was absolutely wonderful! The staff is very attentive to your needs and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Definitely will stay there again when I'm in Marion.

Amazing hotel! Great rooms and friendly staff. There is so much to explore in the hotel. There are multiple hang out spots throughout the hotel, including this very nice tea room. They have a game room in a separate building, with all sorts of boRd games, pool table, darts and other games. It's a nice getaway when you're looking for some peace and quiet.

WOW! I've come to Marion since I was a kid and didn't know the Elgin Hotel was here, but I do now. We've stayed in several "historic" restored hotels, but this one is the tops. Except for the relatively small size of many of the bedrooms, I have zero complaints. All three floors are just grand, and the way the building was restored, floors two and three (where the rooms are) all have large kitchens, dining, and living areas available to all, so the smaller bedroom is irrelevant. We had rooms on both floors. We were there over new-years eve, so we enjoyed the specialty meal at the downstairs bar and restaurant. Because they weren't actually open, the bar allowed us to bring our snacks in and watch the Chief's game on their multiple TV's. ALL of the staff we interacted with were the best. The hotel was full that weekend, and they were still very friendly, kind, and accommodating despite being busy. The hotel has free street parking out front, an elevator, and en-suite bathrooms. Check out ALL of the rooms on their web page because the size, decoration, and amenities vary with each one, up to having a jacuzzi tub. Prices also vary by room and by night as with many hotels. They have available package deals and add-ins, both of which we did. Marion itself doesn't have much to offer beyond a couple local lakes, but we were happy to mostly stay and eat at the hotel, which also offers a game room outside that is accessed from their courtyard. For additional meals, we ventured out to a couple of neighboring towns to eat at their bar and grill offerings as recommended by the staff. I highly recommend the Elgin Hotel as a unique stop on your adventures.Noteworthy details: The hotel itself is beautiful everywhere, but the staff really made our stay a time to remember. They turned it into an experience.

We had another great stay at this beautiful hotel in a small Kansas town. The town is so cute and the hotel is even prettier all decorated for Christmas!! We stayed in a different room this time call Chingawassa. The bed was super comfy and the jacuzzi tub was a hit. It filled up quickly with nice hot water. The smart tv was logged into Netflix which was awesome to end the day snuggling up to a movie. Staff was welcoming and our late night checkin was a breeze. They texted all the info prior and had everything laid out for us. Highly recommend!!Rooms: Rooms are very nicely finished out. Hotel is maintained very well.Safety: We felt very safe the whole time. Areas are very well lit as well as Main StWalkability: This is right in the middle of town. You can walk up and down Main St and down to Central Park.Food & drinks: They have a kitchen for guest use that allows you to prepare your own food and use their fridge. They also have a restaurant on site.

I can not say enough about this beautiful historical hotel. It's absolutely amazing and the vibe is spot on.Each room has a theme. We stayed in the Depot Room which has a train theme. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Each room also has a journal that each guest has left notes in and it was fun to read through. The staff is thoughtful, friendly and couldn't have been nicer. The whole town gave me Stars Hollow vibes. Excellent choice for our 24th anniversary, staff was exceedingly helpful and quick to be of service, decor was splendid, atmosphere amazing and comfortable. We visited in the off season so it was a quiet and pleasant experience. It is a well restored old hotel building that has lovely common areas and amenities. Since it is a restored building there are creaks and groans in the real wood floors etc. but that for me was lovely. I will say if you are staying in the smaller rooms that others may not be considerate of noise levels (nothing severe but phone conversations should remain private ?), that was annoying but remedied with soft earplugs. Common areas are a joy to relax in and the architecture is well done for the time period with real wood and tinned ceilings. Several places to see and visit in the area with a great downtown to walk about in and not feel pressed upon by large crowds. Neighborhoods have stunning craftsman homes and decor. I would recommend visiting this hotel if you can, well worth our time and money for our 24th anniversary.

Stayed in the "Eisenhower" room on the way to visit the Eisenhower Museum & Library in Abilene Kansas. Room and whole hotel beautifully restored.Noteworthy details: Beautifully restored hotel originally built in 1886.
