“This was our first time visiting the Elm Creek Beef Local Market in Hoyt, Kansas off 75 Highway. It was apparent their guests were important to them, as they greeted their regulars by name. We enjoyed the Steak Burger special with a side of macaroni salad and bottled soda. The food was delicious and made fresh. They bake their breads... Oh my, so good!!! The restaurant, store, parking lot, food coolers, and bathrooms were all clean. The owner and staff were very friendly and took the time to tell us about their Kansas-sourced products including their beef and bread, honey from T Creek Bees & Honey in Berryton, homemade ice cream from The Sweet Tee in Topeka, and bottled soda from KC. They also had locally sourced pork, smoked cheese, chips, cookies, dog treats, and more. This was a great find as we were passing through on our way to an appointment. Thanks for the hospitality. We will be back.”

“My fist time stopping in to Leonard's, it was after 3pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy. I was looking for Cheese and Summer Sausage to have for Christmas Eve for my family. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a whole lot of block cheese, I only saw a few blocks/flavors. They had a few more choices for the curds but still limited. I was also looking for regular summer sausage since I had not tried the jalapeño before and wasn't sure if that would be too hot for some of my family. Supplies could have been limited since it was the middle of the week and late afternoon. They did have freezers with a lot of meat options such as steak, chicken, pork and they also had pies! The store itself is small but offers a variety of spices and some candy. I'll definitely check them out again.”
“This place has been here since I was a kid in the 80s. Glad to see it is still there! We used to climb on the roof and throw roofing shingles at passing cars...blahahaha the good ol days...”
