“Adorable Swiss-style cafe. Delicious Swiss-style chocolates and restaurant. Hours are limited, but probably the best quiche I have EVER had. Their prix fixe lunch menu is the best: a drink, entrée, two sides and dessert for $19.25. They have this carrot salad that's incredible (you can buy a bottle of the dressing in the shop part) and the beets are amazing too. Also their fresh lemonade is incredible and their hot chocolate is to die for. They also have a small. well curated beer and wine list now too (and happy hour!). You can get packaged food to-go as well, individual cold meals or whole quiches and quarts of soup. Never had anything bad here and they do a lot of fun collaborations with other local businesses, like limited run BBQ quiches with Joe's KC burnt ends or J. Reiger's chocolate shots. In years past they've also collaborated with Betty Rae's ice cream for some incredible flavors (like chocolate covered almond ice cream). You can find their products in lots of local businesses too, like Whole Foods or The Roasterie. BEST chocolate covered almonds I've ever had. This used to be the Swiss Consultant as well in KC, and is a mainstay in the city.”
“How did I not know about this magical place sooner?! Not only is the building adorable, the shop itself is a little slice of a fancy Willy Wonka! The store is laid out neatly and FILLED with all kinds of chocolate and sweets. I love that you can even watch them making their goodies! The staff was so very friendly, kind, warm, and welcoming. We didn’t know what to choose (1 of everything?!) but chose to get 6 specialty pieces, some toffee and a gift for Christmas. The specialty non bins were all SO good. We split them when we got in the car and there wasn’t one we didn’t like! Their chocolate is top quality and you can taste the love, thoughtfulness and passion for the craft in every piece. This place is a must try hidden gem in Kansas City!”
“Lots of celebration type items like cards and little party favors in addition to lots of Mexican sodas and juices. Lots of different breads and Mexican pastries to choose from. Mostly Spanish speaking staff which is a nice immersion in the culture even if only for a moment.”
“This place is so good! They have medium sized portions, but they do make you perfectly full. Their dressing is to die for, and is good on everything! I really like their sandwich on zopf. I recommend the pot de creme if they have it while you're there. The employees are always nice here too.”

“I needed 90+ red gummies for a Dr. Seuss school project but couldn't find enough of Lifesaver's red-colored gummies at any of the local stores! I called and spoke with Jeff from, "It'sSugar," who said that he had a gummy product that was red and might fill the gap for what I needed.We drove down to the Plaza and were delighted to find a very beautiful, extremely well-stocked candy shop; better still, Jeff patiently counted out the gummies and we ended up with about 100 of the gummies!! I was EXTREMELY grateful that we found a source for the candy we needed for our SEUSSabration!”

“Neat shop at River City Market with a good selection of fun candy like candy cigarettes and giant pixi stix, as well as some state/city clothing and tchotchkes. They also have a good selection of postcards if you collect or send them.”
“I tried Laura Little's Candies and found the consistency of their fudge to be smooth and creamy, and dense enough to satisfy my fudge craving. I especially loved the chocolate marshmallow, plain and chocolate/peanut butter fudge. I normally wouldn't stray from chocolate but fell in love with their maple penuche which was a delightful flavor addition to my chocolate box, they had dozens of other flavors. And I ordered their chocolate pretzels. These were some of the best chocolate pretzels I've tasted. The milk, dark and white chocolate pretzels were large and thickly covered with chocolate and had a nice snap and crunch. These had the perfect ratio of chocolate to pretzel. Delicious!”
“This was such a fun shop to check out. They have a large variety of interesting and unique items. A great place to find those rare ingredients you need for new delicious recipes you want to cook. I will need to go back many times to really get a good look at everything!”

“We had visited Nebraska Furniture Mart, then ate dinner at Famous Dave's. Which is right next to Russell Stove. Myself I was looking for their jelly beans. That must be a product of my past. My eyes spotted the Jelly Belly bulk, and right next to that, clearance.! I got a beautiful bag of jelly bellies and filled my arms with clearance candy. Then I saw it!!! Ice cream. I grabbed a l Carmel apple, and a bowl of Krazy Kookie ice cream. I mean what am ZI supposed to do, not get ice cream? The store had a weird set of packed chair and tables. I grabbed a random chair and made my mom wait for me to eat ice cream.4 stars! The chairs and tables were all stacked up in a part of the store. No lids for ice cream cups.”

“This is the place to find the candy you remember or Thad’s hard to find. Very nice store that’s super clean and well lit.Plenty of stock on hand. Candy and drinks.Staff was very friendly.The candy is a bit pricey but when you consider it’s a super nice store in an upscale mall verses a 5 and 10 Store the pricing makes sense.”
“Russell Stover Peanut Butter Egg: Russell Stover has been going strong for almost 100 years as the company was born in Denver, CO in 1923. Around this time of year the company’s major product is its famous chocolate marshmallow eggs. Today I have a version that’s stuffed not with marshmallow, but peanut butter. The taste of the outer shell is a sweet milk chocolate flavor. Biting into the egg divulges that the thin chocolate exterior contains a sugary, peanut butter filling. Texturally the filling is similar to Reese's as it is solid, slightly gritty, and not at all runny or very creamy. It's peanut butter flavor is different from Reese's distinct flavor, but it's not bad. Overall I enjoyed this egg and I’m glad I had it in my basket. If you crave peanut butter as much as I do then this one is for you, Doughboy approved*Russell Stover previously made a "Peanut Butter Creme Egg", but it appears to be now discontinued. I liked the "creme" version better as it distinguished itself from Reese's by having a delicious liquid-like peanut butter filling.
