Great Plains SPCA Pet Adoption Center is one of the largest animal shelters in Kansas City, serving nearly 5,000 pets annually. The facility is very clean and does not smell of animals. The staff is amazing, super welcoming, friendly, helpful, very professional, and wonderful. They love the animals and are very respectful, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience without rushing. The process is smooth, with extensive tours, personality and health profiles, and assistance every step of the way to ensure a good match. The prices are very reasonable for what is included. The dogs and cats are very well taken care of. It is easily the best adoption experience, and many highly recommend it for expanding your family. Volunteering there is also a great way to relax. They work to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals through humane sheltering, adoptions, behavior training, and community outreach.
I love my little Buddy! He is everything I wanted in a new pet! Sweet, cuddly , and loves walks, visits to the nursing home, and playing. With toys. We have become fast friends . Shelter was busy but very helpful and clean. Great staff.

This is the most professional animal care center I've ever been to. I am fostering to adopt a lovely dog from them and they have been very supportive.
