I have banked with Cap Fed for 30+ years. Every branch I go to has very helpful staff. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because one of the ATMs at a bank I use often has been under repair for my last 3 visits.

They send you a new card without letting you know that they've updated or changed their system, you go to use your new card and it doesn't work. You spend 20 to 25 minutes waiting to speak to someone just to find the new card has too be activated like a credit card, where you are quickly dismissed by the live person and shunted back over to the automated system to redo the whole thing again, only to go and use the card and low behold still can't get it to work. How many times do you have to call, how many trips do you have to make to them? Now while I am angry this does not reflect on the people on the inside who were all great. unfortunately for them they did get the brunt of my anger, which was not fair to them and though I was not a huge a-hole I was a bit of a frosty a-hole so for that I do apologize. We are just tired of dealing with all this nonsense by a company that's been around long enough to know better

I love the Mission Capital Federal. Staff is so friendly and has helped me on numerous things like setting up s CD with 5% interest!!! and setting up online banking and free coffee. They grind their beans themselves, so good.

If you care about financial inclusion, I would not do business with capital federal as they discriminate against people due to credit when it comes to opening accounts. Much better options out there for you to put your hard earned money.

Great little bank they are very helpful, however the lobby is always closed due to covid. Why is the lobby closed? The rest of us cannot close off our buildings to prevent covid

Comment about transferring funds from Capitol Federal to another banking institution, Capitol Frfersl Savings does not transfer in a timely manner; from our experience and other known customers it does take nearly a month after receiving proper documents to complete transfer. Wander whose interest is being served with delay, bet it's not the customer.

Went in to ask about a car loan and they had no idea what they were doing. The lady couldn't figure something out so she said she would call me with the information and I told her I needed this done quickly to which she responded "it takes about two weeks to get approved for a car loan" I then laughed, went to Bank of America down the street and they had me approved for a loan within the day... TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES

I'd like to start out by saying that I've been a Cap Fed customer for almost 10 years and they're a great bank overall. The customer service when you call their toll-free number is always top notch. Not sure what the deal is with the Mission branch... The experience, at the drive-thru in particular, is absolutely horrible. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I'm starting to think that maybe they use this branch to train all the new employees on drive-thru transactions because I'm never there less than 10 minutes, even if there's no one in front of me. Wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not. This afternoon, I waited nearly 5 minutes (yes, I timed it) for anyone to even acknowledge I was there AFTER pushing the "Call Teller" button. And there was only one other car there, in the other lane. Finally, an employee said "Someone will be with you in just a minute." Um... isn't that YOUR job??? So I wait. A couple more minutes go by so I press the "Call Teller" button again to see what the hold up is. I wait another couple of minutes (the other car is STILL there, by the way, seemingly NOT being helped either) and still no answer, but there are people clearly in the window. I finally left and drove out of my way to the Shawnee location. And guess what? Drive-thru transaction done in less than 2 minutes. I will NEVER go to the Mission branch again unless it's for an ATM transaction. I HIGHLY recommend the Shawnee branch on Nieman-- much better service, employees are super nice, and there are 2 ATMs.
