Was in a jam this week after I installed some new steering components in my Jeep JK. Kept getting death wobble even after reinstalling those new parts just to make sure it was somewhat dialed in, less professional alignment. I looked around and saw some good reviews on Stompers and decided to give them a call. Found them to be supper professional on first contact and they understood my urgency, as this is my DD. They went out of their way to fit me in that same day and not only consult with me about the rig, but actually did the work the same day. And folks, it was true consulting...Jay could have just reinstalled those new parts again, given me an alignment and sent me out the door, but he found the root issue which was being masked by the old parts - my balljoints were toast! Found them to be professional, transparent and this Jeep rides so nice now - feels like a brand new rig! Thanks again Stompers and see you soon for some other projects on the TJ.

Short summary: Walked in asking what they charged for alignments, they asked for my keys, pulled jeep in, glanced at it for 15 mins, told me everything I already knew beforehand, and then forced me to pay nearly $100 for an "inspection" that I didn't ask for.I just recently replaced all my steering components and was trying to find a shop that could properly set my toe-in and caster angle since I don't have a good way to do it. I was trying to get a price from a few different shops on what they charged for an alignment and had mentioned it was a bit annoying because beforehand I didn't have death wobble and now I do, so I was trying to get that done so I could move on and replace more components. Instead of just saying what the price was for an alignment, I was asked to set up an account and give a bunch of info, also went out and took a picture of my license plate and I assume the VIN as well, even though I could've provided both of those while at the desk. Once that happened, I was asked to hand them my keys so he could pull in the jeep. I assumed he was wanting to check what the lift was to make sure an alignment was doable. For the next 15 mins he glanced over my suspension and told me all the things I already knew, mostly just my 5-6 year old rubber bushing were dried out. Took measurements relating to an alignment essentially the same way I did in a parking lot, which doesn't help because I was hoping for it to be put on an alignment rack and get digital readouts. After that 15 min ordeal he told me all the parts I should replace before an alignment and said he can either order them and they do the work or I can do my own thing. Said that I was already going to be replacing all those myself but still wanted to pay him for his time for looking it over (thinking it was just what he did since all I'd asked was the cost of an alignment) and only then did he tell me there was an "inspection fee". In total, I got charged $86 for asking what an alignment would cost, that's it. I could've gotten an alignment for that price on an actual rack, and the "inspection" notes didn't tell me a single thing I didn't already know. I didn't ask for them to look at it and I was never made aware of the fee until he was already completely done.Having helped start up and run a different offroad business for the past 5 years, I am absolutely floored over how scammy this is. If someone walks in asking how much a basic service costs, you give them a rough estimate right then and there. If they want something diagnosed, then you have an obligation to tell them that as soon as their vehicle rolls into the shop, then there's going to be an inspection/diagnostics cost. I'm now out that $86 which was more than the cost to replace all the bushings causing the death wobble that I already knew needed replaced. I didn't ask for it to be diagnosed, I wanted someone with proper equipment to set the caster and toe-in because it just got new components put in, and nothing else that I need to replace would actually affect those. Great way to make sure someone doesn't come back so they can't get ripped off again.

I'm from out of town and had this shop inspect the underside chassis of my jeep. I was hoping it would be good to go, but that's a perfect world. Well the owner found a few safety issues and I went ahead and got some of them fixed. He gave me good advice for the other issues. They were fast and friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop for jeep owners around the county here if you're in town.

I’ve taken my ‘98 XJ here several times and the service and experience is unmatched. They are extremely knowledgeable and experienced in everything Jeep, and they stand behind their work. It’s coming up on a year since I’ve had Stomper lift my XJ and I love it. I was getting an oil change at a shop closer to home recently and that mechanic brought up Jay’s name (owner at Stomper), talking very highly of him, without knowing that’s who had done the suspension work on mine. Jay has built a reputation, and it was a nice confirmation that he’s the best.

They call themselves mechanics but can’t answer a very simple question about a four wheel drive system not related to a jeep

They say they specialize in nothing but Jeeps, but replaces parts on mine that may or may not have needed replaced and did not fix my issue with the Jeep . Also told me certain parts were cracked and needed to be replaced , which in turn did not need to replaced at all . Had to take it to another mechanic that actually took the time to completely look over the entire Jeep and saw that those parts were perfectly fine and they actually found what the problem was and fixed it properly. Oh also they like to ignore your phone calls and never return calls . If I did that with my customers I would not be in business. I will never go to them again . Will not work with people that lie to me about my Jeep that needs to be safe to drive and can’t even be a good business owner and return a call or text .

I brought my 04 TJ in with some handling and alignment issues, Jay looked at the problem and was able to fix it after other shops told me nothing was wrong with it. The prices are fair and I'll be back if I ever need anything else down to my Jeep. Great shop !

Stomper was great. Had a death wobble from all of the modifications that had been done to a TJ I bought. Jay took the time to go through my old Jeep and make it better the new.
