This was my first experience using U-Haul services, and unfortunately, it didn’t go as smoothly as I had hoped. A day before my scheduled pickup, I received a call informing me that the location for picking up my truck had changed. I arrived to pick up the truck at 7 AM, but the staff member was quite unfriendly. She didn’t greet me and seemed to lack a customer service mindset. After handing me the paperwork, she quickly wrapped things up. While the process was fast, it felt unclear, and I didn’t feel welcomed.
I had booked a truck that was supposed to accommodate a two-bedroom apartment, but it turned out to be smaller than expected, forcing us to make three trips. To make matters worse, I was not informed about the mileage limit; the staff at the pickup location didn’t mention it at all. I discovered that I would be charged $1 per mile for any distance over 50 miles when I returned the truck to a different location. Overall, if I need to move again, I will definitely consider exploring other companies.

Booking the rental van online was easy as well as the pick up process. We even rented moving blankets for a pack of 6 for only $5. The van was easy to drive even for a petite woman like myself. Returning the van was also an easy process. The customer service was excellent.

I brought in two propane tanks to fill. They said DOT wouldn't allow them to fill the bottles if they were carried in an enclosed vehicle and wanted me to pay almost $200 to rent one of their trucks. I looked up the law and they are liars. You can carry up to four bottles and up to 90 lbs total inside any vehicle. I was going to rent a 17' truck there to move next week but I'm now done with Uhaul. I'll go anywhere else. I don't care what it costs.

- Reserving online and picking up a vehicle is easy. I was able to make some last minute adjustments at the help desk with no problems. Drop off was easy and straightforward.

Manager was not friendly whatsoever and just overall rude…I get that life is hard but don’t take it out on others, we all live hard lives….In essence, I had to cancel my reservation because some people simply can’t read
