“I was in town on a short break yesterday and decided to stop by the mall. I wandered into this little candy shop and the lady there was so inviting. She cracked a bunch of jokes and made me feel really welcome. It felt like we were old friends. We got to chatting and she told me, in no certain words, that she was struggling to get through her day. I just want to commend her because to be able to give the energy she was giving not only to me but to all of the other guests in the store all while having a hard time is amazing. I don't know that I could have been in such a good mood if I had to help people and smile through a tough time. I'm extremely impressed with the customer care I saw and experienced today.
On the other hand, I didn't know candy was so expensive ?! I didn't buy much because at almost $20 a pound, I figured I didn't need much. Lol. Oh, which reminds me, (I cant remember her name) the lady was so insightful, and really taught me a lot about different candy, I mean she really knew her stuff! I don't eat gelatin, because im pork free and she shared that neither does she for the same reason, but showed me all of the different things in the gummy candy containers that I COULD actually eat. I got a piece of this and that. Now, I have to say that the quality of the candy is really really up there. Still, the price is wild. I would absolutely revisit this store, if for nothing else, just to engage with her again.
Kudos to whoever decided to employ her!”
“We received a variety box of toffee as a gift and all flavors were absolutely delicious! I typically don’t love white chocolate, but the pistachio was one of my favorites!! I look forward to ordering more in the future so that we can continue to enjoy your delicious toffee in NY!”
“How did I not know about this magical place sooner?! Not only is the building adorable, the shop itself is a little slice of a fancy Willy Wonka! The store is laid out neatly and FILLED with all kinds of chocolate and sweets. I love that you can even watch them making their goodies! The staff was so very friendly, kind, warm, and welcoming. We didn’t know what to choose (1 of everything?!) but chose to get 6 specialty pieces, some toffee and a gift for Christmas. The specialty non bins were all SO good. We split them when we got in the car and there wasn’t one we didn’t like! Their chocolate is top quality and you can taste the love, thoughtfulness and passion for the craft in every piece. This place is a must try hidden gem in Kansas City!”
“This was such a fun shop to check out. They have a large variety of interesting and unique items. A great place to find those rare ingredients you need for new delicious recipes you want to cook. I will need to go back many times to really get a good look at everything!”

“Such a cool little spot! It’s small but has a ton of variety, especially if you’re looking for Mexican or Latin medicine. I was honestly surprised by how much they had packed in there . ?”
“I needed 90+ red gummies for a Dr. Seuss school project but couldn't find enough of Lifesaver's red-colored gummies at any of the local stores! I called and spoke with Jeff from, "It'sSugar," who said that he had a gummy product that was red and might fill the gap for what I needed. We drove down to the Plaza and were delighted to find a very beautiful, extremely well-stocked candy shop; better still, Jeff patiently counted out the gummies and we ended up with about 100 of the gummies!! I was EXTREMELY grateful that we found a source for the candy we needed for our SEUSSabration!”
“Just got our first shipment. Product was shipped very fast and had been manufactured only 7 days previously. Absolutely delicious, highly recommend! Teddy Bear Connection-Omaha”
“The only location in which I have found locally that carries A&W Rootbeer Jelly Beans. Combine the Sizzling Cinnamon, and Lime(Both versions), and you have a sweet treat from the past to reminiscent with. Also, pick up some Cola Bears, it's well worth it; I will be back! Parking validation is prevalent within this location, most shops including this one verified if we needed it.
Parking: Paid parking, unless validated appropriately. Amtrak travelers, like I am on this trip, won't have to worry about this issue.”
“Russell Stover Peanut Butter Egg: Russell Stover has been going strong for almost 100 years as the company was born in Denver, CO in 1923. Around this time of year the company’s major product is its famous chocolate marshmallow eggs. Today I have a version that’s stuffed not with marshmallow, but peanut butter. The taste of the outer shell is a sweet milk chocolate flavor. Biting into the egg divulges that the thin chocolate exterior contains a sugary, peanut butter filling. Texturally the filling is similar to Reese's as it is solid, slightly gritty, and not at all runny or very creamy. It's peanut butter flavor is different from Reese's distinct flavor, but it's not bad. Overall I enjoyed this egg and I’m glad I had it in my basket. If you crave peanut butter as much as I do then this one is for you, Doughboy approved*Russell Stover previously made a "Peanut Butter Creme Egg", but it appears to be now discontinued. I liked the "creme" version better as it distinguished itself from Reese's by having a delicious liquid-like peanut butter filling. I've included a picture of it as well for those interested in seeing it.Russell Stover Eggs Rankings:1.Vanilla Cream2.Peanut Butter3.Dsrk Chocolate Maple Cream (there are other eggs I prefer to this, but have sadly been discontinued)Doughboy_Food_Reviews”
“Love love Andre's. Years ago, I went to the one near the plaza. Their Leawood location is less formal but equally fantastic. Charming atmosphere. Chocolates and pastries are superb. Wonderful choice for a birthday or an elegant dessert when serving guests. The cafe usually only offers 3 or 4 dishes, which I prefer because each one is very well prepared. Recently, my sisters and I enjoyed the cheese pie (fab), quiche lorraine and eggplant parm. They offer one price of $19 for a meal including a drink (coffee, tea, etc.), entree, and dessert with drink.”
