A few months ago I asked to use the restroom and was told no it's not working and they weren't very nice about it. This week I went shopping and asked to use the restroom and again was told they didn't have plumbing. They said that corporate won't spring for the cost of the repairs! Really?

On January 14, 2025, my 5-year-old son, who has nonverbal autism, and I visited the Dollar Tree store at 6803 W 75th St in Overland Park, KS. This store holds a special place in my son’s heart; he is fascinated by their logo and loves the balloons. He often watches videos of this store on YouTube, and visiting this store always brings him joy.
Unfortunately, despite living within walking distance and my son’s frequent requests to visit, my family and I DO NOT feel welcome there. We had an incident with Jeff, the store manager, who was very disrespectful to both my son and me. I reported this to David Wilson, the Regional Human Resources Manager , who said he would start an investigation. After Mr. Wilson’s investigation, it was determined that Jeff’s disturbing behavior and treatment toward my son were not concerning enough, he continues to be employed by this corporation.
Regrettably, this isn’t an isolated incident. Another family with a son with autism also experienced an incident with this manager. It’s disheartening to experience such discriminatory treatment and saddening to see that basic customer service skills and empathy are not a requirement for employment here.

The manager yelled at my autistic son while I was trying to help him in thr middle of a meltdown. I asked him not to address my child because he is autistic and it will make it worse, he told me he to shut him up then and it was his store he could do what he wanted. I asked if that included yelling at a disabled child and he preceeds to tell me that my son is not disabled while mocking him.

A young lady here today helped me to make a private purchase without drawing a lot of attention. She was very kind and it was such a blessing to have her help. I wish I had gotten her name. But this was on March 3rd around 7pm if that helps get her some recognition! Keep up the great work!
