This place was just Crazy huge book store. I have no way to describe how much I enjoyed this store. Having visited another location smaller than this. I spent over 100$ on one location on purchasing books. Looking forward to my next visit. Who know how much I walk away with next time.

Clean store with a helpful staff.They have a good selection and even a first edition section.I grabbed a couple books and took note of some for another day.

Looks like I’m not the only one who had a bad experience selling books/media at this location. I used to sell books at half price books years ago and never had issues. Brought in several bags and boxes, they went through them in less than 4 minutes. Was told all my records were ruined beyond repair, when I knew for a fact that wasn’t true. I had called ahead and ask if they would buy sealed never opened medical resource books, they said yes, but when I brought them in they told me they were going to throw them away. I didn’t really care about the money, it’s just the fact they weren’t accepting things in good condition that I know people would buy and also they were extremely rude when interacting with me! I even called the manager after because I’ve never had such an experience there, and literally all he said was “sorry you had a bad experience with that employee” while repeatedly deeply sighing from being annoyed with me while I expressed my experience. I really wish I would’ve just taken everything back and brought them to a thrift or goodwill where people could actually use them and not treat me like I was bringing them literal trash or something. Don’t waste your time, effort, or gas money coming here to sell for any reason. You’re better off giving to friends, family, or where ever else people could use them. Clearly the manager doesn’t care that there’s been several complaints about employee interactions and how they buy things from people. Just really bothers me because I used to come to this location all the time. Will not be doing so again.

This is a great book store. It has a little of everything. It depends completely on what you are looking for, but the price is right.They also take used books for resell, which is friendly to our landfill.

Talk about a hidden gem, Half Priced Books is one of my absolute favorite book stores in KC. They have really unique and quality finds. I pop in there every once and awhile and always leave finding some amazing treasures. The employees have always been super kind and helpful. Def not overbearing or in your space if you don't love that type of service, which is me in a nutshell... you can pursue at your leisure and just focus on taking in the magic contained in all their books, records and more... the other day I purchased a beautifully designed 2024 calendar and tarot cards haha--love the wild and unique designs)

This store is much bigger than Olathe and has a Larger Science Fiction section. The shopping mall it is located in has good parking close by. 100% visit here and see different selections than other stores.
