“I was looking for Chili oil and Chili paste. Yes, you can get it at Walmart but I wanted something a little more authentic. I was already on that side of town and Google is your friend and this place was super close to where I was. I went in and it was great! Yes, I felt like a tourist. I found the chili oil and paste and kept searching just to see what they had. I wanted some black and white sesame seeds but they only had white in a bottle. The black was in a bag and I didn't need that much. I'm making Ramen. The owners were very nice. Walking the aisles, I found Matcha and Strawberry cheesecake Kit-Kats!!! You can't find these in except on Amazon and this made me happy! I recommend coming in to get all of your authentic Asian cooking supplies.”

“Ridiculously inefficient Hy-Vee Aisles. (They need to take lessons from Target.) I could have shopped for my own groceries faster. My mom got a notification at 1:55pm that her groceries were ready. I got there right at 1:55 and they told me they hadn’t come out yet. It’s now 2:45 and I’m still waiting. Pickup time was scheduled for 1:30-2pm. Don’t tell me they’re ready if they’re NOT ready!”

“I usually go here for photo orders and they always have my order ready on time or sooner. Their website has great specials for photo orders as well as photo gifts as well. Buying food here is fairly expensive but that is pretty common with a convenient store as compared to a grocery store. Sometimes they do not always have as many employees as they need at one time but overall I've never had a bad experience here.”

“The Hen House salad bar is awesome and priced incredibly reasonably. The produce, meat, and toppings are fresh and plentiful with a large number of options for a price that beats the community college student center salad bar across the street. I wound up here hunting for Keto friendly meal bars. The price for the good ones is $3 higher than our grocery near home, which...you know...hard to swallow so to speak. So, failing in my hunting, I wandered over to the salad bar, and decided to make a lunch and take it back with me to the office. After finding enough fresh yummy goodies to fill a plastic box, I was expecting a tasty but pricy weigh-in at the counter. (They weigh the salad, not the shopper, in case you were worried). "Do you have a Hen House Card?" "Sure do, although It's probably from years ago... well ok, that worked..." "The salad bar is still on sale, so here you go." Boom. I got out of there for $6 for a similar salad I put together at JCCC for $9 the other day. With the money saved, I could get those keto bars! Except no. I'll really get them next time we do our shopping for home. But still! What a deal! I'm happy. I'm full. I have change in my pocket. There were next to no carbs in my salad choices, so I bet I can eat an entire cookie cake when I get home! Except not, but I can dream a little. Maybe if the cookie cake is $3 off and they forgot to put in the sugar...and the flour...and anything that's good and tasty.... What was I talking about? Like the salad bar! Good and tasty and affordable!”
