Used to love coming to these gyms to play basketball over the past few years, however I returned today and they took away the ability to play full court as well as made the cost of a day pass $10!? I have seriously never seen that before at a basketball court/gym. Got in trouble today for playing 5v5 full court with my friends and was threatened to be kicked out. We were the ONLY people on the two full basketball courts, so I don’t understand what the issue was. Sadly, these secret gem courts now look old and dusty, much like the population that inhabits this place to workout. Young people are not welcome there anymore…

Great facility. Very spacious and clean. Location pinned on maps is on the other end of the building though.

It’s a great, somewhat smaller, community center. Everything you need, good natural light, good patrons. It’s also the safest gym in the area, police department is attached to it, and they’re often walking thru. Not that safety is much concern around here, but still, kind of nice.

If u hate human interaction and love being alone this is the place for you, the gym is a ghost town with the new half court rule. Management is running it into the ground ?♂️

Have been a member of this gym for 13+ years- have befriended many employees and always loved it… UNTIL; they closed the basketball courts and turned them to half court only because day pass users decided they can’t control themselves and regulate their emotions properly. Now; I, and the other actual members are suffering for something we didn’t do. It’s ridiculous, and management here is clearly as lost as Dr. Rick Marshall after jumping into hyper space with the Space Time Continuam. The general manager is rude, and has no bearing of how to run a community center.

Tomahawk had an issue with some guys getting into a fight and decided it was best to close down the basketball court for a whole week, and then enforce a “No Full Court” rule, effective permanently. The guys involved were day pass users, which makes it even more head scratching that they would punish their paying members for the actions of non members. When asked about it, the response was “yeah, it’s too bad?” That’s by far an unacceptable answer to someone who pays money to use their amenities, it’s the whole reason myself and multiple other people go to this facility. I’ve spoken to multiple employees (current & previous) who have talked about the toxic culture that is set by management. It’s frustrating going to play with a group of friends and told you can’t because of the actions of non-members. Why is it our fault they can’t control their own gym? It’s even attached to a police station. Many of the employees are nice, it’s a clean facility, but management is clueless.

My very first time visiting TRCC was this past Wednesday to meet up with friends who live nearby. Here is my experience:Customer Service: 4/10 I was pretty underwhelmed with the customer service. I do appreciate that the staff was diverse, but it seemed the staff wanted to be anywhere but where they were working. Facility: 8/10 This is a nice community center nestled near 119th street. I can tell a lot of the members live nearby and visit often. There were majority 65+ that were in the workout area or playing badminton in the gym. We came right at 11, so the crowd was more seasoned, which we enjoyed. As it got later in there day, more kids came to play basketball on the half court. Price: 10/10 For a day pass, the price is $5 which you cannot beat! Memberships are reasonable as well. Half-Courts: 2/10 We were there to play basketball with our friends. The courts are half-court, which is a bummer. Apparently, there was an issue with unruly kids a month ago, but not sure. We still had fun and nobody bothered us. Overall: 5/10 TRCC is just okay. Olathe Community Center is a lot nicer with more full courts and excellent customer service. I don't think I would visit again but I am happy that the folks living nearby have a facility to go to, especially the 65+ crowd.

They had issues with their saturday basketball group (no surprise). This cause them to first shut down all basketball through the week at 1. Then they decided it would be open all day but you could only play half court. I play with an adults on group Monday and Friday from 12-1:30 and we have never had any issues. Somehow we are being penalized for their lack of ability to control their own gym. Most of the group only has a membership to play with these group of guys during lunch. We have even been told they know who the culprits are. Then why punish the entire group?
