5 stars for bakery! I ordered "Thank You" cupcakes for our vet. The decorator was super sweet, and it was very easy to order over the phone. They did a fabulous job with the cupcakes! As for this new location, I notice that some of the items that were at the previous location, are not at this one. Not sure if temporary? Also, I went today, and they didn't have any of the gluten free bakery items out. They were all frozen. So kinda have to plan ahead if you're planning to pick some up. Would be nice if this location and the Olathe location stocked the same things, as I sometimes have to hit up both locations to finish my grocery list.

It's finally happened, the much anticipated new Whole Foods opened its doors in Overland Park, and the fancy grocery store gods are indeed shining their eyes upon the southern KC suburbs with this new build. I've been here a few times now, and below I've outlined the good and the bad, though if you don't want to read more the summary is that it's a Whole Foods and it meets Whole Foods standards. Now for the details: The Good: * This place is massive. So, for folks like me that were a bit salty when the North OP Whole Foods closed and moved to Brookside, you can rest assured that this one is big enough for a full kitchen and all your pre-made food needs, along with any and all other Whole Foods goodies you are on the hunt for. * It has plenty of self check out lines. I'm a big fan of self check out, especially at Whole Foods where I find the service to be hit or miss. * The bakery and pre made food area here is large - which is incredible. The old location was a retrofitted Whole Foods, set up from when they acquired another health food brand. It did the job, but the hot bar suffered. You've got it all here. * The location is great. I'm sure some will disagree but I love having this so close to the asian market so if I need a specialty ingredient it's close by. It's also positioned really close to Costco which makes for an easy two stop run on the weekend. The not so good: * The parking lot is a war zone so get ready to battle it out for a spot. * Like other Whole Foods locations I've had mixed reviews when speaking with employees. Some are friendly, some are not. It's kind of what I expect at a Whole Foods though.

Unfortunately, though we used to love shopping and eating here, last Wednesday both me and my son ate a soup at the store and got very severe food poisoning. It was also very disappointing how the store management handled this case, as they eventually said they do not take any action unless more than 3 people will report the same complaint. Very disappointed from this store.

Anthony gave me the best customer service experience. So did the agent who brought my groceries to me. She was very sweet and very kind. The both outbid themselves. I hope that I get to see them again soon. ?????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not good as other whole food stores. Better choose other one which is near.Sad thing they charge for cutting chicken which is not charged in other stores and every time they say because of shortages of employees we are not cutting meat today.

This new store is much larger than the older one on 119th Street. It was quite busy, though I saw many people walking out with just an item or two in hand. Specials for Amazon Prime reduced the price of some items. Good quality produce.

The new store is so nice and very impressive!! I do wish people in that area of OP were more nice and friendly. Our experience was tainted just from the rude people that were in there shopping. It’s an entirely different vibe than north JoCo. Also, I feel like the parking lot needs some stop or yield signs. It seemed no one knew where they were going or who had the right of way and I could see an accident waiting to happen. There were four cars at the little intersection that goes out of the parking lot and everyone wanted to go first, what a mess. I’ll probably just end up going to the Whole Foods in KCMO just to keep my stress levels down.

As soon as we walked in the door, my family and I all were swept away by the awful smell from the seafood and meat section which was wafting towards us as we made our way through the entrance and right into the produce area. Poor design. The smell lingered for a long time and was not inviting. My coffee was good, but I won’t be back anytime soon. Management, get a hold on that smell. It is truly horrendous.
